Hunan is referred to as "Xiang", named in the south of the Dongting Lake. Before of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the social development of Hunan is far behind in the adjacent provinces, Such as Jiangxi and Hubei.In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Hunan received a large number of immigrants,which made the population explosion, and had a profound impact.to the Hunan social changeThe population problem, now more and more is aroused the attention of researchers, and become a hot topic of extensive research. According to the Marxist view, Population is social groups with a certain quantity and quality. living in a particular mode of social production,,and linked by a certain social relations under a certain amount of time, and a certain geographic area. In The Ming and Qing Dynasties, there is the Period accepting the immigrants which made the population of Hunan increased. In the agricultural era, having sufficient labor force meet the production requirements.
