Since the1980s，Chinese Social Organizations have developed rapidly, and played animportant role in the social construction and social management. The research of the developmentof social organizations has also become academic hot. However, there was lack of large span andsystematic research on this issue in the field of contemporary Chinese history in the past.Therefore, it is urgent to research the history of the development of Chinese social organizations,so as to discover laws, deal with effectively the situation of the rapid development of the socialorganizations, and to provide some ideas and suggestions for promoting social harmony andstability.This thesis consists of five chapters, introduction, conclusion and chronology. The maincontents are as follows.The first part is introduction. This part briefly discussed the situation of the development ofChinese social organizations and the research profile, and sorted out the relevant documents fromthree aspects of the basic theoretical research, the study of history, and the research of currentsituation and countermeasures, summarized, analyzed the existing problems in the study, andforecasted the future study.Chapter1discussed the rectification and elimination of the old social organizations and greatdevelopment of the new social organizations. Also, this chapter briefly introduced the overview,basic policies and regulations of the Social Organizations at the turn of the old and new society.The state cleaned up and rectified social organizations by the ways of approval, rectification andban. On this basis, the chapter analyzed the rapid development of the new Chinese socialorganizations from two aspects of the basic pattern and main features of new Chinese socialorganizations. In addition, the paper discussed the causes and historical role of the development ofthe new Chinese social organizationsChapter2concerned the tortuous development of social organizations in the period ofplanned economic system. During this period, the development of social organizations hasexperienced the continuous development in the late50’s, recovery and vivacity in the early60’s,and serious damage and rectification in the period of the Cultural Revolution. The chapteranalyzed the causes, the main features, and historical influences of the tortuous development ofsocial organizations in the description of the historical process,Chapter3researched the rise of social organizations in the beginning of reform and openingup. Driven by the reform and opening up, the overall recovery of the social organization andnew social organizations emerged, and the social organizations of academy gradually recovered.All kinds of social organizations appeared in the field of society and economy. And variousfoundation rapidly developed and grew. At the same time, the state standardized and rectified thedevelopment of social organizations. Social organizations must be registered in accordance withthe law. Also the government cleaned up, rectified, and ban the rural cooperative foundation twice.The dual management system of the social organizations formed, and the role of the system ofmanagement of social organizations changed.Chapter4discussed the further development of social organizations with the establishment ofsocialist market economy. Under the market economy system,"market failure" and "governmentfailure" promoted the new development of social organizations. In general, the number of socialgroups increased serenely. And non-enterprise units rose and were incorporated into the unified registration management system. Also foundation got more opportunities to develop. Meanwhile,"grassroots" organizations became appeared. The initial formation of social organizations systemformed. In the market economy system, social organization plays an important role, also has manyproblems. Timely the state adjusted the management system of social organizations andstrengthened the construction of the Party organizations of grass-roots in social organizations. So"double management" system of social organizations was officially formed.Chapter5was related to a period of vigorous development of social organizations during theperiod of building socialist harmonious society. Under the new situation, the development ofsocial organizations is facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities. The developmentsituation, the main characteristics and important role of social organizations have undergonetremendous changes. Revolving the construction of Chinese social management system, the stateputs the construction of modern organizational structure as an important part of social constructionand reform of the social system. In order to promote the construction of socialist harmonioussociety, the state speeds up the formation of modern social organizational system, promotes theoverall healthy development of social organizationsThe last part is summary. The part recalled the history and looked to the future of thedevelopment of Chinese social organizations. Specifically, the part sorted out the developmenthistory of social organizations, and previewed the development of China’s social organizations.Also the part offered suggestions about the further development of social organizations from threeaspects of national level, management system of the construction of modern social organizations,and its construction of social organizations.
