Culture Changes In The Customs Of The Three Gorges Migrants

This article examines the customs’culture changes of the Three Gorges migrants who moved into the S village in Hubei Province through the research method of folklore study. The main purpose is to study the effect of the customs’culture changes for immigrants to integrate into the local culture.S Village is a Tujia immigrants with more than1,000people inhabited the village. Those Immigrants lived with the unique Tujia customs’culture and lifestyle before moving to S Village. But they Relocated to the S village in the Jianghan Plain, and there are many differences about the customs of language, production, lifestyle、 marriage and funeral, as well as social, holiday customs. The article analysis the process of customs’culture change in S Village and finally the point is to find out the law how the immigrants integration the local culture. At the same time, this article selected another town whose migration history have40years as a background. The purpose is to study the immigrant which comes from different culture regions is how to adapt and integrate into new regions’customs from the comparison of historical and the consensus.First of all, this article introduces the Three Gorges immigrants’background by systematically, and describes the customs’culture’s backgrounds between the immigrants’home and the new place that moved into, as well as elaborates the area of the Tujia nationality customs’culture,the Jianghan plain’customs’ culture, and the custom culture of Central Plains region in detail.Secondly, this article describes the differences of the language customs, mode of production and lifestyle customs, etiquette and social customs between the immigrants’home and the new region, and analysis the process of immigrants’ customs’culture change with used the Folklore. At last, the article summary some laws about the process of the cultural integration. Especially in the area of customs’ change of marriage, funeral as well as the festival, it produces the important influence to culture fusion between immigrants and local people.Lastly, we could see immigrants cultures’stick side as also could see another side that immigrants have to imitate, adapt and affect even more to change the local resident’s customs’culture through the study of the customs’culture change. And we could find out that immigrants who have different age, experience and education level would effect different influences about the adaption of new region’s customs’culture. Resettlement of immigrants, the Government can not just focus on economic compensation, but also to fully understand the importance of customs’culture. The culture of immigrants must be respected and the old customs and cultural characteristics of immigrants must be understood. More important, the Government should take measures to make the immigrants to live in the new place happiness.
