Dasi Cultural Studies, The Three Gorges Region Before

The Three-gorges region plays an important role in the cultural communication between the east-west cultural systems by right of its special geographical position and landscape, As an important part of prehistorical archaeological culture, it has been observed by many scholars .Recently, with the world famous hydropower project of Three-Gorges Dam starting, the work of archaeolgical excavations in Three-gorges have made remarkable achievements. As to pre-Daxi archaeolgical culture, the materials have been acculumated abundantly, but the synthetical research developped slowly. This thesis uses new archaeological materials to systematically analyse pre-Daxi cultural's dates, area types, headstream, and the relationship with other nearby cultures. Affording to cultural visage, the pre-Daxi cultural relics can be divided into two types of archaeological culture: Chengbeixi culture and Liulinxi culture, which affect other archaeological culture each other and this is one of dynamics to urge its development. Cultural development and decline rises and falls, the Sunjiahe type and Liulinxi type of Liulinxi culture turned into the mainstream of Guanmiaoshan type and Zhongbaodao type of Daxi culture.
