The Research For Poetics Of Turgenev’s Creation

Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev, as the first one who introduced Russian literature to Europe and his great achievements in literary creations, is renowned in Russian literature history. Turgenev is called the Big Three in Russian literature history of 19 th century with Lev Tolstoy and Doctoevcky. The Turgenev’s works not only were written with the beautiful language, but also contain the deep thought and artistry. Because of his acute insight, Turgenev has the name of the Singer of Times.The focus in this dissertation is the research for poetics of Turgenev’s creation. Through the analyzing of Turgenev’s works, in the dissertation it will research the poetics of Turgenev’s creation from the themes, the elements of romanticism and the poetic expression of Turgenev’s world views.In the introduction, the focus in the dissertation is the definition of the term “poetics”. The author analyzes the views of Aristotle, Halisev, Austin Warren, René Wellek, and Potebnja on the term “poetics”, and in the end confirm the category of poetics in the dissertation. And meanwhile, in the introduction, it analyzes the research status in China and in other countries, and summaries the academic achievements.The themes in Turgenev’s creation are various. Through the works, Turgenev not only described the true conditions and features of the Russian society in the 19 th century, but also took a deep thought in some of the social problems. The binary opposition theme in Turgenev’s creation reflects on the contradiction between the idea and reality, the relationship between the love and responsibility, and the social change, Turgenev would like to express his thoughts in these problems.As a writer of realism, Turgenev makes the accurate description of the society, and the features of romanticism intermingled. These elements don’t influence the works, and oppositely, they have added the artistry and aesthetic experience to the works. Turgenev’s romantic elements reflects on the poetic scenery description, the sincere motion expression, and the legendary character and plot.Through the analyzing of his works, it will be found that in the philosophical view, Turgenev has the characteristic of combination with the idealism and materialism; in the view on life, Turgenev has the negative and pessimistic attitude and toward love, Turgenev enjoys the process. All of the views and conceptions are reflected in his literary works, consequently, the view on the world will be one of the indispensable elements in the research for poetics of Turgenev’s creation.
