Cultural globalization is an objective phenomenon. With the advancement of the information t echnology, cultural globalization has been an irresistible trend. In this context, cultural soft pow er has been attached great importance by different parts of the world. As animation-based consumer visual culture and mass culture, cartoon culture, for its own nature, are more likely to be spre ad and accepted by the audience under other cultural background, thus the recognition of domesti c animation identity appears particularly important.Presently, domestic animation is at a relatively vulnerable position in the world, for which a huge gap exists with those of America and Japan, the two animation powers. In another word, they impart a tremendous head drop against the once glorious, internationally renowned "China s chool", which had taken on the world animation for a period of time. Especially after the pushing forward of reform and opening-up policy, with the impact of planned economy and the extreme p oliticization fading away, Chinese animation culture has got a large number of supporting nationa 1 policies. However, Chinese animation culture not only has lagged behind the pace of expectatio n, but tumbled into the crises of identity recognition, uncertain definition and other awkward po sitions. A correct response to these crises and the reasonable solutions to these problems play a key role in giving full play to the tremendous influence of cartoon culture, and being devoted to enhan ce the national cultural soft power.This study, starting from the identity of cartoon culture, analyzes the values and education al functions of animation culture, and the domestic animation cultural context through interpretati on of cultural identity. Meanwhile, it analyzes the development of Chinese animation in the conte xt of global culture from the historical point of view. It explores a cultural identity construction of d omestic animation through examining the development of domestic animation and the changeover i n the sense of art show gimmicks. This paper provides the analytic solution to the problem on how t o define the identity of domestic animation, as well as the theoretical analysis of the multi-dimens ional influence of cultural context on the animation from creation to dissemination efforts.In order to restore Chinese animation "identity" definition as fully as possible, this paper, while vertically teasing, compares Chinese animation culture with those of Japan, the United St ates and so on horizontally. This paper can be classified as an interdisciplinary perspective of anima tion culture. It gives out the analysis and exploration of the inevitable bottleneck problems of dome stic animation on the current interpreting images era using aesthetics, psychology, communicati on, narratology and post-modernism, consumer culture, post colonialism, visual culture, et c., holding the spiritual connotation and the artistic expression from the spirit of traditional cultur e to the present cultural environment, and building up a suitable cultural identity for domestic ani mation development.Overall, it researches solutions to the animation environment encountered by us and the relat ed problems by vertical and horizontal comparison, the empirical analysis, combination of theor y with practice, qualitative with quantitative analysis, this research can be mainly divided into t wo big domains, one is to straighten out the experiences and lessons of the rise and fall of domest ic animation through the advantages and disadvantages of empirical class of domestic animation, as well as the research on the characteristics of domestic animation in different historical periods, finding out the realistic significance of domestic animation in different periods on various aspects o f the country, such as economics, politics, diplomatic ways and so on. One the other hand, it is to explore the successful experiences from Japan and American through normative disciplinary s tudies, analyzing the enlightenment from the domestic related industries at the present stage to se ek to find solutions of the kind, combining the current situation and problems of the domestic ani mation.
