He has made great contribution to expanding Korean culture. The loyalty towards the nation and the sympathy for people are flowing in his inner mind. As the literatiwith the precise spirit for searching, objectively and rationally, he considered a series of problems which contradicted Korean society with his preference towards Confucianism. Thus he sharply criticized the corrupted and cruel society. Owing to that, he began to be suspicious about promotion, which made him wonder to be or not.Suck-chon’s style is that the poetry is based on the naturally emotional confession. Besides that, he is concerned about the simplest spirit and emotional expression.Reacting to the capriciousness, he demonstrates confused intellectual ideology with the unexpected development though under the various difficulties. Besides that, he alleviates the loneliness of weariness through missing home. What he wants is the combination between him and the nature which can realize the detachment. In his late age, he chose the optimistic altitude and went forward to the seclusion, which led him to comprehend the simplest and freest life.Through his literature view and the poetry pursuit toward aesthetics, we can see his emphases on didactic level, from which he initially thought about the effectiveness and admonishment. Meanwhile, Suck-chon had further pursuit toward aesthetics than Taoist scholars at that time, whose works contain the subjective and objective presence for poetry. He thinks it as the purest art and the essence for poetry. This kind of creation can be concluded as "the truth of spirit". His human skills are inferior but also intrinsicallypermeate with the natural harmony and epiphany, which can reach significant state.Suck-chon’s poetries are combined with the aesthetics systems and theories that were really rare and precious in Korean era common criticism. The Poetry theory embodied in creation played an important role in his construction about spiritual aesthetics, which made him achieve the unique system for art. Through his Poetry theory and literature view, we can be aware of his aesthetics pursuit and the characteristics of social aesthetic ideology in 16th century.Emerged with lots of Chinese culture, he collaborated it with his own creation, which formed the unique aesthetics ranges. He actively acknowledged the thought of Chuang-tzu and took great efforts to practice. At the same time, he put the Chuang-tzu’s attitude into his life’s practice. Suck-chon’s pursuit and inner world made his literature significant. He actively adapted the poetry of Tang Dynasty and the prevailing custom for poetry—namely expressive spirit. The inspiration came out from that and embellishment and rhythm were restrained, which created simple and plain poetic verses. He took the poetry of Tang Dynasty as the model and he used to employ the verses from that. Besides that, he also used poetic words to reflect the authors. With the poetry of Tang Dynasty, he mixed it with the skills, mood and pleasure as the model. His poetries were highly thought of for which he combined the internal spirit with external views. He thought the profound meaning is the ideal concepts that mingled the emotion with the external views. He advocated the implicit rhetorical devices for poetry of Tang Dynasty. In his former stage, wildness and nobleness ran through his works; during his official stage, his works embodied the primarily fresh and latterly natural styles; for the returning stage, it showed the melancholy feelings for the expelling from the powerful forces as well as the plainness after resign. This paper gave a detailed analysis for the direction of the Suck-chon’s Chinese poetry theme, and elaborated on his aesthetic pursuit of poetic creation at the same time, specifically studying his situation of accepting the Chinese cultural elements and the style and changes of the Chinese poetry. This thesis analyzes about Suck-chon’s perspective of poetry creation and the aesthetic pursuit. Besides that, it also illustrates his awareness towards Chinese culture, the style of Tang Dynasty and his theme and style of Chinese poetry creation. From those, it can re-discuss about Suck-chon’s Chinese poetry creation, which has the significant influences on exploring the literature creation trend for the Honam poetry, even the whole Korean literary circle.
