In the new period (since the nineteen seventies end and the beginning of80time to90timeend), along with the national minority contemporary literature’s development and progress, alarge number of Chinese creative minority poet emergenced. The poets or completely write withChinese as their second language, or in the mother tongue at the same time.They are known as"Ethnic Chinese poet”[1].This group of poets had no literary organization or consistentguidelines, but their works show the common characteristics of the times and nationalcharacteristics. The artistic level of their poetries creation had reached a considerable height,becoming a power that can not be ignored.Although the personal living environment and life experience is different, the commoncultural geographical environment that they uphold gave them the same creative ideas. Theystood between their national culture,Chinese mainstream culture and western culture, and theycreated different aesthetic spaces, representing the different voice of Chinese contemporarypoetry.Based on the understanding of Chinese poetry in the new era of minority nationalities in thesouthwest, this paper is divided into three parts. The introduction part mainly introduces thegeneral situation of Chinese poetry of minority nationalities in the southwest of the new period,including the necessity of research, research status, the definition of the concept and the maintheories and methods.The first chapter briefly introduces the context of globalization.The globalization impactedthe new period of southwest minority Chinese poetry theme from three aspects.They are culturaldiaspora, cultural identity and cultural reconstruction.The second chapter is the key chapter of this thesis,consisting of four sections. This partintroduces the themes and aesthetic characteristics of Chinese poetry of minority nationalities inthe southwest of the new period.Facing the strong impacts of Chinese culture and Westernculture, the southwest minority culture and traditional encountered hitherto unknown crisis.So intheir poetries the small nationalities’ pain of crack,lost and inferiority were common. This kind ofnational psychological experience were put into poetries,bringing fracture pain beauty to culturaldiaspora theme and aesthetic characteristics;At the same time, the strong sense of culturalidentity of minority poets made positive action with poetry as a tool, and began their cultural reconstruction of historical task.They became a national spokesperson in poetry.They tried toreconstructe the self and nation, rebuild their beautiful and warm poetic homeland, thus formingthe new period national minority poetry warm and natural beauty; The national tradition andcultural survival space was being squeezed, but not completely disappear. The strong religiousbeliefs and religious ideas affected the poets’ poetry theme selection, the images of poems,poeticthinking and poetic realm,forming the sacring and devouting beaty of their poems;In any era andnationality, women and their works are an indispensable part. With awareness of female as thecore, the new period of southwest minority Chinese female poets’ gentle and strong beaty alsocan not be ignored.The third chapter is trying to explore the creation methods of the new period of SouthwestEthnic Chinese poetry. On one hand, the poets actively used modern Chinese as their language,learnt from the Chinese poetry.On the other hand,they selected transformation of the nationalcultural resources, and used the modern Chinese as the new wine, brewing modern poetrybelongs to their own national wine.The poems of Southwest minority in the new period bright the diversity of art and the richness ofcontemporary poetry. Its prosperity was constructive to the healthy development ofcontemporary Chinese poetry and the national comprehensive literary history. Based on the studyof poems of ethnic groups in Southwest China in the new period, achievements and problemscan be sumed up.It also can provide reference for theory construction in the new period ofChinese poetry.
