In order to reverse the re-election of straight decline, the Socialists took a "neither left nor right" road---the third way. The third way reform has brought a brief revival, soon again to decline. After the third way reform, the Socialist Party gave up the Socialist target and the working class basis. The Socialist Party became the middle class party instead of working class.The European democratic socialist movement is changed into the social democratic movement.The first chapter mainly discusses the historical background of the contemporary social democracy. Under the new liberalism and the Sovier Union-East Europ revolution blow, the Socialist Party failed almost all the general elections. In order to get rid of the dilemma, the British Labour Party under the leadership of Blair took to the third way reform as the banner, and won the general election. Thereafter, German Schroder, France Jospin also launched its own version of the third way.
