China Communist Party (CCP) is the core leader of socialism, which is based on the interests of the masses to serve people as the fundamental purpose of the Party of Marx. Since its founding, the CCP has been paying attention to the relationship between the party and the masses. Currently, new media is blooming in China, which has become a platform for leaders to care about public opinion. It becomes necessary for CCP to grasp the trend of new media, in order to better serve people.Compared to traditional media, new media takes advantages of mobile phone, internet, andoutdoor media to reach the goal. Since the end of last century, western political parties have set up websites to promote policies to get public support. Along with the development of new media, mobile phone, forum, and micro-blog play a vital role in the process of political elections. Some of the western political parties even establish "Network Party". Western political parties utilize new media for effective propaganda, establishing good image, guiding public opinion, winning support, communicating with public, and strengthening communication among parties. It is also a fabulous example for CCP.The use of new media brings CCP either opportunity or challenge. New media provides a fresh channel to strengthen the communication between the party and the masses as well as promoting a free communication environment. Also, it enhances the information transmission between the party and the masses. Utilizing new media not only educates and guide the masses but also integrating public opinion. Beyond that, it provides a way for CCP to supervise. However, new media also brings CCP new challenges in terms of the ideology shaping, positive guiding, and society management. In order to grasp the opportunity and meet the challenge, there are couple ways to cope with current situation. First, it is necessary to pay attention to the important role of new media in order to adapting to the development of envrionment. Secondly it’s rather crucial for CCP leaders to utalize new media as tools toconduct mass work. Especially, it’s important for them to develop their abilities to monitor social conditions and public opinions, to educate and dredge the public and to lead the public opinion in major incidents. What’s more, under the current condition that there are no systemic orders to tighten the relation between CCP and the citizens, it’s also very vital to build up the coresponding systems, which might include system of talent cultivation, system of New Media management, and system of in-party communication. And the last, it’s important to advocate new media as monitoring tools, and to further understand the monitoring function of new media.
