Research On The Communist Party Of China Maritime Strategic Thought Since The Founding Of PRC

China is a country that has both land and sea. The sea is closely related to the security and development of country. Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Chinese Communist Party defends the sovereignty and maritime right and safeguards the national unity. The blockade of imperialists was broken and the policy of reform and opening was conducted. The whole country has a development from the land to the sea. Under the leading of the Communist Party of China, China joins the trend of economic globalization and has a big development. The maritime strategy of Chinese Communist Party is summarized from the experience of successive generations of leaders. It is proved that these strategies are successful to maintain the marine safety, promote the national unity and develop the ocean economy. These policies are successful to make our country merge into the world economic system and use their resources to develop our country. The maritime strategy of Chinese Communist Party is an important part of socialism with Chinese characteristics. With the leading of maritime strategy of Chinese Communist Party, China has a peaceful development over the past years. Now China is a big trading country, a big shipbuilding country, a big marine country, a country with large scale of manufacturing and a country with large production of aquatic products. China is now the number two economy in the world. Development and equipment of navy armament is increasing greatly. The maritime strength of China is growing continuously. China is a big country of ocean and now it is becoming a strong country of ocean.This dissertation is divided into five parts. The first chapter introduces the background and significance of research, and the method of research. It reviews relevant researches that are conducted by a group of international and domestic academics in this area. The second chapter elaborates theory origin of the maritime strategy of Chinese Communist Party and some relevant concepts. The third chapter analyzes the geopolitical situation and historical background of the maritime strategy of Chinese Communist Party. Although the condition is harsh, Chinese Communist Party leads the people to safeguard the national sovereignty and territorial integrity and oppose any action attempting to split the country. Then China has a coordinated development for land and sea during the reform and opening-up. In the participating of economic globalization, China becomes to be a modern country sea power gradually. The fourth chapter focuses on formation and development process of Chinese maritime strategy. It also explores the main content and practice of maritime strategy of Chinese Communist Party. All leadership groups of Chinese Communist Party seize opportunities and meet challenges to make contributions for national maritime interests at different periods of history. The last chapter summarizes the contemporary values of maritime strategy of Chinese Communist Party in maritime direction development and the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. The ocean developing tendency becomes a path to a stronger China. China shows the soft-power from the ocean development and influences the whole world.
