Study On The Evolutionary Mechanism Of Self-organization Of Competitive Basketball System In Chinese Institutions Of Higher Learning

Competitive sports which regards winning honors for the country and establishingnational spirit as its impetus and training supporting talents as its solid base represents thecore competitiveness of a nation’s athletic sports level. The training of supporting talentswith all-round development in competitive sports serves as the strategic basis on which ourcountry advances from a country with a huge sports population to a sports power. Inaddition, as a cultural embodiment of sports civilization of humanities, competitive sports isa significant constituent of education. The return of competitive sports to schools is asignificant move adopted by our country as an attempt to further improve the nationalsystem of competitive sports and realize the combination of education and sports inpost-Olympics period. Following the trend, higher education, as a crucial component ofhuman education and a significant period of training all-round talents, builds a significantplatform for the development of competitive sports in schools. At the same time, thespectacular achievements in2008Beijing Olympics must not lead us to ignore the huge gapbetween our country and world sports power in some individual sports items, particularly inbasketball which enjoys extensive international influence. Furthermore, the key ofnarrowing the huge gap lies in the training of supporting basketball talents.Strengthening the training of supporting basketball talents in institutions of higherlearning is an important way to promote the overall level of our country’s competitivebasketball. At present, many practical problems still exists needing solving in the trainingquality and the operative mechanism of our country’s competitive basketball supportingtalents. This, in consequence, has hampered the overall improvement of our country’scompetitive basketball. Given the stern reality, to perfect the evolutionary mechanism of thecompetitive basketball system in Chinese colleges and universities plays a significant partin elevating the overall level of our country’s competitive basketball, training supportingbasketball talents with all-round development scientifically and accelerating thedevelopment of competitive sports in Chinese colleges and universities.In the light of the self-organization theory of system science, research is conducted onthe attributes, functions, environment, structure, elements, conditions, motion and evolutionof the competitive basketball system of Chinese colleges and universities through acombination of such methods as document-data collection, experts interview, questionnaire,mathematical statistics, system analysis and so on while drawing support from theories ofsystem, dissipative structure and synergetics when needed as an attempt to define the evolutionary process and the mechanism of self-organization of the competitive basketballsystem in Chinese colleges and universities. The conclusions are as follows:Firstly, under the combined effect of the system developing strategy and the status quoof our country’s competitive basketball development, the unique characteristics of ourcountry’s competitive sport in institutions of higher learning, orderliness, openness,wholeness, hierarchy and evolution, aim at breaking the old balanced and stable structurewhich forms dissipative structure and making the system humanity and guarantee thebalance and orderliness of competitive basketball system and expand the functions ofdiversity of higher education. Competitive basketball system in higher education, as asubsystem, is a self-organizing open system. The self-organization mechanism is realisticand objective. The mechanism is not only from inter-relationship and interactions ofelements or subsystems in the system, but also from that between elements or subsystemsand the system. This paper also researches into the conditions, impetus, goals and processof self-organization evolutionary mechanism.Secondly, the premise of the self-organization evolutionary mechanism is the opennessof competitive basketball system in higher education; the constraints are contradictionsbetween learning and training, competition management, target location and etc; the sourceis far from equilibrium. Nonlinear interaction, as an important force for interdependentrelationship of each element inner system and the main basis for mutual coordinationbetween the system and outer environment, promotes competitive basketball system inhigher education to present a diversified development tendency and new features spring up.The development of competitive basketball in higher education is affected by lack of fundsand facilities and competitive level, which bring about the inner disturbance and fluctuation.These factors are important cause of competitive basketball self-organization evolutionarymechanism in higher education.Thirdly, the momentum of development of competitive basketball self-organizationevolutionary mechanism in higher education originates from training, learning, competitionand management among subsystem, elements and the competition and cooperation betweeneducation system and the sports system. The cooperation of subsystems and elements in thecompetitive basketball in higher education generates the dominant parameter---all-roundcompetitive basketball supporting talents, which leads and promotes the orderliness andprocess of self-organization evolutionary of competitive basketball system in highereducation.Fourthly, the goals of competitive basketball system in higher education havecharacteristics of variety in aspects, coordination and correlation. The educational goal ofself-organization evolutionary of competitive basketball system in higher education is to develop all-round talents and the sports goal is to train excellent competitive supportingbasketball talents. Through competition and coordination of educational goal and sportsgoal, the overall goal, an important embodiment of training competitive supporting sportstalents by combination of education and sports, evolves into the all-round competitivesupporting basketball talents and thus realizes cultural education-basketball skills-physicalfitness.Last, self-organization evolutionary of competitive basketball system in highereducation needs four periods, inheritance period of higher education property andcompetitive capability, innovative period of updating ideas, introducing competition andstrengthening coordination, selective period of realizing the combination of education andsports to train competitive sports talents and combining CUBA and CUBS to seekchangeability on the platform of CUBA and CUBS and adjustment period of a series ofchanges, including inner and outer environment, policy and management system.
