A Research Into The Academic Organizations In Institutions Of Higher Learning In China

Nowadays, research into the academic organizations in colleges and universities has been a hot issue in the academic circles. But development of such organizations in institutions of higher learning needs to be further explored. Against the background of the knowledge and information era, this thesis clarifies the denotations and connotations of academic organizations in colleges and universities on the basis of the concepts of academics, organization, academic organization in educations of higher learning. It also gives a thorough analysis of the features, functions, structures and developments of academic organization in colleges and universities. The thesis also uses case study to introduce the successful experiences of some developed countries in developing academic organizations and discusses the enlightenment gained to the development of academic organizations in Chinese colleges and universities. Through an analysis of the present condition of the academic organizations in Chinese colleges and universities, the thesis sums up the problems Chinese academic organizations have and gives suggestions on how to innovate Chinese academic organizations and how to construct appropriate academic organizations in relation to research-intensive, teaching-intensive and research-and-teaching-intensive universities according to different levels and categories of colleges and universities in China.
