Technical courses are the main components of practical courses in China’s higher sports colleges and universities talent training plan. With the development of higher education and the deepening of curriculum reform, curriculum in physical education colleges is not only focusing on the teaching of sports skills, but also is taking the responsibility for training students’teaching, management, competition ability, enhancing their personality development and cultivating their innovation ability. Viewing the actual effect of the current sports colleges curriculum reform of education and teaching, technical curriculum reform touches only some surficial problems. Given the specific value the technical courses pursuit and the different task they have to fulfil, these courses differ greatly from other courses in Colleges of physical education. In accordance with the social changes and requirements, Colleges of physical education have to rethink two critical questions, one is the target orientation, and the other the content selection. By probing into practical courses in operation, learning ideas from the process of constructing National Quality Title Courses such as "Gymnastics" and "Basketball", exploring new ways to innovate the sports colleges curriculum, expecting to realize a breakthrough in the sports colleges curriculum reform, meeting the "high level" and "professional" demands of the market economy on higher physical education. The author draws the following conclusions:1Technical courses bear a diversity of features such as practical teaching in learning process, learning activities accompanying independent research, individual creativity, various forms of autonomous activities, the potential curriculum education being clearer, textbook knowledge merging with the generation of students’resources. The teaching environment and setting of the technical courses determine that such teaching has the advantage of contributing ideological and moral essence to education.2Different stages ruled by the syllabus emphasize different objectives of technical courses, they have relative stability and change with time as well. The former refers to the learning and mastery of the particularly basic skills which are key elements in teaching while the latter refers to the gradual attention that has been given to the relationship between knowledge and skill, process and method, emotion attitude and concept of value.3Teaching content of technical courses at different stages has become different. With the pass of time, the layout and selection of teaching content show a clear trend of social adaptation:the90s witnessed emphasis on tactics and skill learning; after2000, major tasks of teaching has become more conspicuous, the content of the courses emerges both in knowledge and technology form; technical courses lay equal stress on the teaching of theory and knowledge and the practice operation in recent years. Students are showing more considerations about their future career needs when selecting the courses.4In specific course operation, teachers think it is necessary for teachers to receive course training. They hope that they can be provided with related guidance and help. Comparing with teachers of other subjects, teachers of different ages hold different acceptance to their school status and occupational accomplishment.
