Applied Research On Training Patterns Of Chinese Elite Bodybuilders

In order to discover the effects of high volume training and high intensity training on our elite bodybuilders and fill the missing of research on training patterns of resistance training in our country, this study tested12domestic elite bodybuilders (used HVT and HIT during contest preparation) training effect and physical indexes before and post workout. The study is to provide a scientific basis for exploring and establishing weight training patterns. Conclusions are as follow:First, tests have shown that the subjects’body fatigue after single time HIT is less than that of HVT after workout. The catabolism and creatine kinase level of the subjects who used HIT are lower than those who used HVT.Second, periodic HVT and HIT before contest shows that there are no distinct effects on subjects static physiological and biochemical indexes and bone mineral density, also the cardio-pulmonary function and muscular strength indexes. Periodic HVT before contest can lead to lean mass losing and aggravate the imbalance of muscular development in different areas. Periodic HVT and HIT before contest can help to lose body fat and improve fat distribution and also the ability of muscle controlling and contraction to some extent.Third, periodic HIT before contest shows better effects on maintaining lean muscle mass and reducing body fat than that of periodic HVT, also the effect on the improvement of the body composition; Periodically HIT’s enhancement on the ability of muscle controlling and contraction is superior to that of periodic HVT. The total training time of is about260minutes per week and that of HIT is about160minutes per week. The comparison of results shows that HIT is more efficient.Forth, the study on mainstream bodybuilding training patterns shows that, there are crosses, overlaps and revelance between those patterns. And those patterns are variable. There are great differences between Chinese and foreign bodybuilders in physical condition, in addition, most our athletes don’t use the patterns that suit for themselves. So they don’t get the results they expect. Also the study shows that those different training methods suit different people.Fifth, it shows that if athletes need to reduce body fat level and likely to compete in a lighter class for better placement even lose some lean mass, using HVT for pre-contest training is good for them. On the other hand, if those who need to cut as much fat as he could and keep as much lean weight as they could at the same period to approach their best condition, HIT is the right training pattern for them according to Chinese elite bodybuilders physical condition and comprehensive assessment of both HVT and HIT patterns.
