| Objective:The association between features of the metabolic syndrome and cardiac and lung function in45-64years old people was investigated. We attempted to investigate the effect of walking at anaerobic threshold intensity for12weeks on cardiac and lung function of45-64years old metabolic syndrome (MS) people. The research was altogether divided into two parts as follow:Part1The relationship between cardiac and lung function and aggregation of features of the metabolic syndrome in middle-and old-aged metabolic syndrome peopleMethods:General situation, blood index and cardiac and gulmonary function of197volunteers with0-4MS components was investigated. Result:Under the condition that age and height were same, as the number of metabolic syndrome components increased, the BW, BMI, WC, HC, WHR, HR, SBP and DBP showed an increasing tendency in three groups, the TG, TC, LDL-C, GLU, INS and UA were shown with an increasing tendency, while HDL-C was shown with an decreasing tendency. As the number of metabolic syndrome components increased, Enddiastolic thickness of posterior wall of left ventricle(LVPWd), Diastolic thickness of left interventricular Septum (IVSd), Minute volume (CO) and Cardiac index (CI) were shown with an increasing tendency, while transmitral early to late flow velocity ratio (E/A) was shown with an decreasing tendency. Ratio of forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity (FEV1/FVC) and Forced expiratory flow75(PEF75) were lower in MS group than those in MC group.Part2The influence of exercise on cardiac and lung function of middle-and old-aged metabolic syndrome (MS) peopleMethods:Based on the criterion of metabolic syndrome from2004CDS,25metabolic syndrome (MS) volunteers aged from45to64years were randomly divided into exercise group (14subjects) and control group (llsubjects). The exercise group carried out the exercise program which was one-hour walking at the intensity equal to anaerobic threshold (AT) for12weeks (3-4times per week,1hour per time). At the same time, the subjects from control group kept their lifestyles as normal. General situation, blood index was investigated before and after12weeks. Cardiac Functions of subjects at different exercise intensity (rest,30W,60W and90W) and lung function were monitored before and after12weeks respectively.Result:1. General situation:TC after12weeks was lower than that before12weeks in exercise group (p<0.05), while HDL-C after12weeks was higher than that before12weeks (p<0.05). TC/HDL-C after12weeks showed a significant decreasing tendency compared to that before12weeks in exercise group (p<0.01). C-peptide/Glucose (CP/GLU) after12weeks showed a increasing tendency as compared with that before12weeks in control group (p<0.01). Insulin/Glucose (INS/GLU) after12weeks showed a increasing tendency as compared with those before12weeks in control group (p<0.05).2. The morphologic cardiac index:Endsystolic thickness of posterior wall of left ventricle (LVPWs) after12weeks in exercise group was significantly thicker at rest and30W load compared to that before12weeks (p<0.05). Enddiastolic thickness of left interventricular Septum (IVSd) and Endsystolic diameter of left ventricle (LVDs) after12weeks in exercise group was significantly thinner under90W load compared to that before12weeks (p<0.05). Endsystolic thickness of left interventricular Septum (IVSs) after12weeks in exercise group was significantly greater at rest compared to that before12weeks (p<0.05). Enddiastolic thickness of posterior wall of left ventricle (LVPWd) at rest after12weeks in control group was greater compared to that before12weeks (p<0.05). Enddiastolic thickness of left interventricular Septum (IVSd) after12weeks in control group declined under90W load compared to that before12weeks (p<0.05).3. Cardiac functional index:Minute volume (CO) under exercise load after12weeks was shown with a decreasing tendency compared to that before12weeks in exercise group, while Minute volume (CO) was shown with a increasing tendency in control group. Diastolic cardiac dysfunction under silence and exercise load was shown after12weeks compared to that before12weeks in control group. Conclusion:Under the condition that age and height were same, as the number of metabolic syndrome components increased, Left ventricular hypertrophy and cardiac diastolic function degenerated proportionally. Ventilatory disorder in different degree was showed in MS group. Walking at the intensity of AT could improve the dyslipidemia proportionally, keep the level of glucose stable and reduce insulin resistance. In addition,12-week walking at middle intensity could benefit to the Cardiac systolic and diastolic function and improve the cardiac reserve. |
