In a setting of Chinese culture, this study applies theories and techniques in dance therapy, and uses embodied cognition, Psychological Capital Appreciation, and Subjective Well-Being(SWB) Theory for reference. By means of aerobics dance, this study applies methods of literature, questionnaire, experiment and interview with attempts to explore the relationship between aerobics dance and the physical and mental health among the elderly and middle-aged, especially their subjective well-being, and tries to reveal the essence and rules of aerobics dance in promoting well-being among the elderly and middle-aged, at the same time this study serves to construct a mode of aerobics dance which is suitable for the mental and physical health of the elderly and middle-aged in China. This study can be divided into three parts.Part One: General Introduction. In this part, the author starts with the analysis of the present social condition and previous studies on well-being, points out the necessity and significance of the studies which are practical to Chinese people, especially those aiming at the effective promotion of well-being of the elderly and middle-aged in China. This part gives an introduction to the framework of the entire study, including the main contents, basic research thoughts, macro-theoretical basis and micro-theoretical basis. This part also shows that science-based aerobics dance is important and unique resources to enhance the well-being of the elderly and middle-aged and has a unique value to improve the welfare of them and resolve the increasingly serious aging problem in China.Part Two: Construction of the Aerobics Dance system, Source Material Database, and Mode for Promotion of Physical and Mental Health in the Elderly and Middle-aged. This study firstly combs the previous theories and then proposes the idea of "Dance with the Heart", composes high-quality source material of aerobics dance, design plans of series of activities of Physical Harmony and Mental Joy; establish activity elements of aerobics dance of the elderly and middle-aged, build up intervention system of aerobics dance of the elderly and middle-aged, design source material database for aerobics dance of the elderly and middle-aged, and finally create the intervention mode of aerobics dance of the elderly and middle-aged, that is the mode of "Six One".Part Three: Study on the Effect of Aerobics Dance on SWB of the elderly and middle-aged. This part summarizes present aerobics dance and re-compose them, especially gives detailed description about self-composed Fitness Tapping Exercises Basic Routine for the Elderly and Middle-aged(Part of Waist and Belly), and then makes an empirical research on its impact on physical and mental health of the elderly and middle-aged. And on this basis, this part composes a series of aerobics dance for the elderly and middle-aged, and finally applies a qualitative method of interview to validate.Main findings:1. Based on the previous theories, this study proposes the idea of "Dance with the Heart", composes high-quality source material of aerobics dance, designs plans of series of activities of Physical Harmony and Mental Joy; establishes activity elements of aerobics dance of the elderly and middle-aged, builds up intervention system of aerobics dance of the elderly and middle-aged, designs source material database for aerobics dance of the elderly and middle-aged, and finally create the intervention mode of aerobics dance of the elderly and middle-aged, that is the mode of "Six One". This study provides convenience for the majority of the elderly and middle-aged to participate in aerobics dance activities; offers convenient and scientific material for the organizers to carry out aerobics dance activities, and also provides reference for government bodies to develop more relevant policies, and for the work of relevant administrative departments. In short, this study provides a scientific basis for carrying out the aerobics dance activities extensively and widely among the elderly and middle-aged.2. Choreography and organization of series of aerobics dance activities would not only achieve enhanced physical fitness in the elderly and middle-aged, but also promote the establishment of a scientific outlook of world, life and love, thereby enhance self-esteem and promote self-actualization, increase their psychological capital, and ultimately effectively enhance the SWB of the elderly and middle-aged.3. Intervention mode of aerobics dance of the elderly and middle-aged can effectively promote the physical and mental health of the elderly and middle-aged.
