The problem of students’ participation has become the focus ofattention since the new curriulum reform has been put into effect.Hence, the cooperative learning methods—teacher-studentinteraction and student-student interaction—has been widely used,hoping to improve the students’ participation. However, because ofthe limited knowledge and the insufficient understanding on thestudents’ participating, the teachers actually could not arouse theenthusiasm of the students. Therefore, this thesis has thetheoretical importance and practical significance on the students’participation research during the cooperative learning process.In the thesis, the author works out three questionnairesinvolving the behavioral, cognitive and emotional participation inthe cooperative process conditions which wants to investigate thestudents’ participation through classroom observation andresearch results based on equality predecessors for a month. Theinquiry wants to discuss three main questions by investigating:(1)how about the condition of students’ participation in the groupdiscussion for the high school students;(2)how about therelationship among the behavioral, cognitive and emotional participation;(3) the comparison of the students’ participation indifferent background.Through the related research, there are several preliminaryfindings:(1) in the cooperative learning process, the highest level ofparticipation is the student behavioral participation; the secondone is the emotional participation; the cognitive participation is thelast one. Although overall participation of students is active, thedegree of participation is general and unsatisfactory;(2) in thecooperative learning process, the relationship of the behavioral,emotional participation is not closely linked; there are intimateconnection between the relationship of the cognitive and emotionalparticipation;(3) in the process of cooperative study, the degree ofgirls’ participation is more than boys’, the degree of senior highschool students’ participation is higher than junior high schoolstudents and the urban students is more than non-urban students.Finally, based on the analysis of the quantitative data which canreflect the current situation of the students’ participation and therelated reasons, the author puts forward some suggestions forcooperative teaching; the teachers should establish a correctattitude of participation and guide students to activelyparticipation; cultivate students’ interest and stimulate internalmotivation of the students’ classroom participation; utilizegrooming mechanism so that everyone can have the opportunity toparticipate; create a pleasant atmosphere in the classroom so thatstudents are willing to participate in classroom teaching; design theeffective classroom activities which can satisfy the needs ofstudents’ and use the flexible teaching forms so that students can participate classroom teaching and other related proposals.
