Life safety education is an important content of the values of "people-orientation" and "quality-education". This thesis bases its logics on the essence and core elements of life safety education, and uses literature analysis, logics analysis and case analysis methodologies to examine the value and function of life safety education from multiple perspectives. The purpose of the study is to explore the theoretical system of the life safety education curriculum and the dynamic process of its implementation in physical education curriculum, and to demonstrate the needs of safety education to youths in modern education and society development.The thesis first established the framework of life safety education curriculum system. Based on this framework, it conducted vertical analysis on four aspects of life safety education:the theoretical basis, the concept definition, the curriculum review, and curriculum nature, horizon analysis on five fields of life safety education curriculum: goals, contents, implementations, evaluations, and models. It further supported its analysis with true cases of selected schools and individuals. With all the analysis above, the development of the life safety education curriculum is discussed, and the curriculum system is established.The research found that, there are closely related between life safety education and physical education. Issues such as an unclear definition and scope of the study of life safety education curriculum, as well as the lack of theoretical guidance of life safety education still exist during the development of school education in China.The research holds that, the construction of life safety education curriculum system is an important issue in the current education field in China.Conclusions:(1) The essence of life safety education is a knowledge system developed from moral, intellectual, and physical educational goals. (2) Life safety education attaches great importance to individual value and life dignity. It calls on people to understand, cherish, and protect life. Students must have strong safety awareness, and equip themselves with skills to deal with crisis and protect themselves. Therefore, it’s important to improve the theoretical research of life safety education curriculum system. (3) The design of life safety education curriculum should consider contents of sociology, pedagogy, and safety science, and combine concepts of life, safety, and education, so that a strong theoretical foundation can be built for a deep discussion of the curriculum model. (4) The strategy of the development of life safety education curriculum focuses on establishing three levels of education curriculum: national curriculum, local curriculum, and school-based curriculum. (5) With regard to the implementation of life safety education, physical education curriculum is the main approach, Out-ward bound and off-campus courses are important approaches, and hidden curriculum is a supplementary approach. (6) Enhancing status of life safety education curriculum in school education, compiling professional teaching material, strengthening teachers’ training, and improving students’ ability to protect themselves are important ways to achieve the purposes of life safety protection, life dignity maintenance, and life quality improvement.
