Historical Materialism suggests that mental dynamics is a strong force promoting social and historical development. All practice of a social historical subject involve both spiritual elements and mental dynamics. Spiritual elements, contained in the practice subject’ mind, can only be guided, cultivated and developed into mental dynamics under certain inner and outer environments and conditions. As a positive psycho power, mental dynamics is always related to specific historical subjects and practices. Contemporary Chinese college students are supposed to take the responsibility to realize Two Centenary Goals and Chinese Dreams of national rejuvenation. They are the backbones to build and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics. It is with great historical significance to agglomerate and inspire these students’mental dynamics for the development of China’s today and tomorrow.From the perspective of Ideological and Political education, this dissertation focuses on the theories, practice and methods of mental dynamics of contemporary Chinese college students and intends to investigate the ontology, time, reality and regularity in their mental dynamics training with Marxist fundamental stand, concept and method and to further summarize and analyze the characteristics, contents, regularity and methods of the training. This dissertation tries to systematically answer the questions concerning college students’mental dynamic training as "Why is it necessary?", "How to make it possible?" and "How to conduct?" and to establish the theoretical analysis framework for the training. This research covers the following parts:Part one deals with the connotation and components of mental dynamics theory. The opening part firstly analyzes the characteristics of mental dynamics according to its connotation, formation and components and secondly illustrates the mental dynamics theory from Western Soul to Oriental Morality in history, from Idealism to Marxism, in order to find out the development and connotation of the mental dynamics training, and finally to establish the theoretical foundation and sources for the training.Part two analyzes the nature of times of training contemporary college students’ mental dynamics which shows its values not only in satisfying the basic need of individuals and society but also in driving personal and social development. Combined with the rejuvenation background of "The Chinese Dream" and the era requirements for mental dynamics training, this part observes the necessity and importance of mental dynamics training and consequently explores the individual and social values.Part three investigates the functions and generating disciplines of the mental dynamics training of contemporary college students. This mental dynamics training has its own inherent law hid in its foundations and regulations based on the mental statements and growth environment. This part means to analyze the times of mental dynamic training for college students as a specific historical subject.Part four provides an analysis on current situation and existence problems of contemporary Chinese college students’mental dynamics training. This part tries to master the reality and challenge problems of mental dynamics training and to consolidate the practical significance of this research by analyzing such universal spiritual problems faced by contemporary college students as political belief confusion, values distorted, fuzzy ideals and beliefs, weak sense of integrity, faded spirit of arduous struggle, lacking sense of social responsibility, loose concept of unity & cooperation and poor psychological quality, etc.Part five deals with the content of the mental dynamics training of contemporary college students. Based on the analysis on Chinese contemporary college students’ growth characters, this part clarify the goal of guiding the students to establish a correct outlook on life, world and value so as to improve the ideological and political quality by means of a soul of faith education, a core of ideas and conviction education, a key point of patriotism education, an aim of cultivating dynamics of faith, morality, cognition, motion and willpower.Part six points out the inspiration from American college students’ mental dynamics training experience. With a well-mastered values, rules, contents, goals and elements of Chinese mental dynamics training, the author completes an investigation at University of California, San Diego and makes a deep and overall comparison and analysis on the generality and specificity of mental dynamics training between Chinese and American training goals, contents and methods, which expands the academic vision and reference frame of researches on mental dynamics training for Chinese contemporary college students.Part seven figures out the realistic route of contemporary college students’ mental dynamics training. The spiritual world modeling and mental dynamics training of Chinese contemporary college students should embody the characteristics of China and meet the needs of our times, from which angle and based on the achievements of previous research, this part illustrates the Chinese route of contemporary college students mental dynamics training in the purpose of proposing some countermeasure solutions.
