There are a lot of discussion about the reasons of the disintegration of SovietUnion in academia around the world Since1991,Especially, how to evaluate theeconomic system of the Soviet Union, and how to evaluate the relationship betweenthe economic system and the collapse of the Soviet Union. One view is that the Sovieteconomy mode is the main reason for the collapse of the Soviet Union;Another viewis that there had made tremendous achievements during the period of the SovietUnion. The Soviet Union became a powerful industrialized countries from a countryin the brink of collapse, backward, agriculture-based and illiteracy dominated within avery short time, in the period from World War I to World War II. The economicgrowth rate was the highest around the world.Although there are serious drawbacksin the Soviet economic system such as the conservative and rigid in the ideology, technological backwardness in some industrial fields and the economic systemincompatible with new scientific and technological revolution to some extent etc. Theauthor do a comparative study within the scope of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus,Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Estonia and Moldova in the PhD thesis including the socialand economic development of these countries in the periods of the OctoberRevolution, the Soviet era and the collapse of the Soviet Union. The conclusions areas follows: Broadly speaking. These countries were in the stage of development ofcapitalism, backwards in economic and social development, even some of thecountries still in the stage of development of feudalism before the October Revolution. All of them take tremendous progress in the socio-economic development, thepeople’s living standards improved rapidly in the period of the Soviet Union. However, most of the countries developed slowly even progression after the Soviet Union haddisintegrated. So the Soviet system is not the main reason to cause the collapse of theSoviet Union, although the Soviet system had many drawbacks.
