Study Of The Development Of Modern Information Service Industry In Shanghai

Modern information service industry is the basic, guiding and strategic industries of the national economy, which is the most active, intensive and fastest-growing industry, also is the heart and soul in the information industry. From a global perspective, the rapid development of this industry has become a new impetus to world economic growth. In developed countries, information service accounts for more than information manufacturing industry in the information industry, and has become new economic growth point of national economy. To develop the information services is an important way to enhance competitiveness of a country or region, is the strategic high ground in global competition must be occupied.To greatly develop modern information service industry is the direction of upgrading the industrial structure of Shanghai, also an important indicator of Shanghai economic development changes. In recent years, the rapid development and achievements of Shanghai’s modern information service has become the fastest growing industry, the most active in technological innovation, larger value-added benefits in the modern service industry.The paper taking Shanghai as an example studies the development and role in-depth of the modern information service industry has a strong practical significance. This research is conducive to rapid and healthy development of the industry, and is conducive to better stimulate the development of other industries and thus promote the progress of the entire national economy. We found that the existing research literature on the modern information service industry of Shanghai is little and scattered. Therefore, it is necessary to qualitatively and quantitatively take a comprehensive study of the development of Shanghai modern information service industry.Research approach:this article firstly discusses the concept of modern information service industry, research status, research methods, etc; then describes the situation of Shanghai modern information service and quantitative analysis of modern information service efficiency; then researches on the relations and roles between modern information service industry and industrial structure adjustment, industrial convergence, international economic; finally, based on the above work, put forward the development path and policy proposal for Shanghai modern information service industry by using SWOT method. The core content is divided into three parts:The first part is to quantitatively analyze the development of modern information service efficiency by using the Malmquist index of productivity. By researching on the total factor productivity, to find out the advantages and disadvantages of Shanghai soft industry and to guide its further improvement. Based on this understanding, it is of important realistic significance to find out whether it is balanced for the development of Shanghai modern information service and the factors to decide the difference by using regional analysis.The second part is based on the analysis method to discuss the effect of modern information service on national economic, research the role of modern information service from two sides:The paper studies the modern information service industry which plays an important role in the promotion of industrial integration and restructuring. Using input-output method from two sides to study the impact of modern information service on industry convergence; Thus, we use correlation analysis method to analyze the impact of the modern information service industrial on industrial restructuring from static and dynamic sides respectively.Research of the impact of modern information service on the national economy. We discuss the role not only from the qualitative aspect, but also use quantitative input-output analysis to study the deep contribution and impact, including correlation and spread effects.We use the associated analysis methods to analyze its relationship with other industries and the ripple effect analysis to analyze the driven effect of modern information service industry on the national economy. And the industrial structure of horizon diagram confirms the above conclusions. In the third part the SWOT analysis determines the Shanghai’s competitive advantages, competitive disadvantages, opportunities and threats about the development of modern information service industry, thus this paper proposes the Shanghai’s strategy and map of promoting the development of modern information service industry, based on the domestic and international experience. Finally, this paper proposes the Shanghai’s policy recommendations for the development of modern information service industry.This innovation in methodology has:First is using the data envelopment analysis for study of efficiency level of development. The DEA method can use linear programming to determine whether the point of decision making locates on the efficient production frontier, while a lot of useful management information is available; therefore, DEA method is more favorable than some other methods (including the use of statistical methods), and covers a wide range of applications; the Malmquist productivity index is obtained by use of this method. Second, we use the input-output method to study the contribution to economic. Input-output method is used to investigate the dependency relationship between the national economy and the various enterprises in production and distribution quantitatively, which builds a comprehensive and balanced input-output model and carry on economic analysis, forecasting and planning. This method can easily measure the relevance and leading role between the modern information service industry and other industries; Third, multivariate statistical analysis method is used to study the level of and the correlation between the modern information service industry and economic development.This study found that modern information service industry of Shanghai maintains a rapid development in recent years, has become the fastest-growing, the most technological innovation intensive, highest value added industry, and strongly support for the Shanghai industrial structure and economic development mode adjustment. The productivity level has steadily improved, and mainly promoted by technical progress and raise of integrated management level; but it is not very balanced in development among different district, central city and suburban are much better than suburban. Through the contribution and impact analysis, we found that modern information service industry, information industry have a strong ability of endogenous growth, and the link between manufacturing and services tends to more closely for common development. Shanghai’s information industry and modern information service industry are ranked first in direct consumption, and significantly ahead of the consumption of other sectors, while the demand of "telecommunications and other information transmission services for "computer services" and "software" is huge, so the service sector is also ranks first.Finally, according to the issues with the quantitative and qualitative research, this paper proposes the strategy and path of the development of modern information service industry of Shanghai with the successful experience at home and abroad.
