| The modern logistics is widely regarded as the third profit source by enterprisesbeyond the lower material consumption and the higher labor productivity;andalso,as an important component of the national economy, the modern logisticsindustry is involved in almost all aspects of the national economy, which is across-industry, cross-sectoral and inter-regional integrated industry， so thedevelopment level of the modern logistics is closely related to that of the nationaleconomy. On the other hand, there is an important traffic artery in Henan Province,its unique geographical position shows that: its level of development of logisticsindustry will have a significant impact on the logistics industry development and thenational economic development in China. Therefor, the author attempts to explorethe relationship between the logistics industry and the national economy by usinginput and output method, and then introducts the theory of data envelopmentanalysis method to evaluate the investment efficiency of each sub-industry of thelogistics industry in Henan Province in2007. The results will be provided as areference on making the industrial policies for the development of regionaleconomic.First, after defining the scope of the logistics industry, we establish the logisticsindustry input-output tables with four departments by separating and summarizingthe input-output data of Henan Province in2007. And then we explore the industrialassociation and the spreading effects from the logistics industry of Henan Provinceby using the input-output method. In this section we focuses on the investmentstructure and market structure, the original investment structure and the end usestructure, the intermediate demand rate and the intermediate input rate, the influencefactors, the sensitivity coefficients and the production induced factor of the logisticsindustry in Henan Province, to reveal the role of the logistics industry and therelationship between the logistics industry and other sectors of national economy.Then, this paper establish the DEA efficiency evaluation model of logistics industry,by using the input-output tables of Henan Province from1987to2007, to analysisthe redundant inputs and lack outputs of the sub-industry, so we can find out therelatively non-effective industrial sector.The results show that: the development of logistics industry in Henan Province has been strongly depend on the other industries, in particular the dependence toindustry is very high, which means that the logistics industry, has a significant role inpromoting the development of the national economic, but the extent of the demandof the national economy for logistics industry is low, so the leading role of theeconomic development to the logistics industry is small in Henan Province; thelogistics industry makes an high dependence on the downstream industries, such asall types of manufacturing, trade and final consumption industries, while the demandto the upstream producers and manufacturersis weak, so the logistics industrybelongs to the intermediate inputs industry; the original investment structure of thelogistics industry in Henan Province shows that the operating surplus and theworkers compensation make a larger proportion in its added value, which shows thelabor-intensive characteristics of the logistics industry; from the production inducedfactor, we get that the logistics industry in Henan Province services for thedevelopment of other industries who is still in the basic status not a leadingindustryor pillar industry; the DEA efficient shows the air cargo industry, pipelinetransport, handling and other transportation services in Henan Province in2007is inthe state of non-effective, which have the potential to reduce the inputs or increasethe outputs. |
