In the1980’s, China launched the reform of the housing system andopened the real estate market. Since then, the real estate industry hasbeen tremendous developed, and now becomes a very importantindustrial sector of the national economy. To study the relationshipbetween real estate industry and economic development will providetheoretical support to the policy making of real estate industry and theharmonious development of all sectors. This paper, based on the Zhu Hairegional economy, focuses on the relationship between Zhu Hai realestate industry and the regional economy in order to help the localeconomy runs in a healthy way.Firstly, the concepts involved are listed. These concepts are all citedfrom the national legal documents, institutional norms or the academicbooks and paper. Based on these concepts, this paper defines its focusesof researching on real estate industry, as well as the main content andfeatures of the real estate market. The real estate industry is an important industry both in themacro-economic and micro-economic. In this study, the importantposition and role of the real estate industry in the national economy andin the social development is analyzed in depth. Due to the long chain ofthe real estate industry and close relationship with other industries, itsdevelopment can foster the development of a series of other relatedindustries, and promote economic growth in the current China. Realestate industry plays a pivotal role in promoting the growth of thenational economy, and thus can be one pillar industry. Through a seriesof analysis, this paper illustrates the pillar position of real estate industryand its important contribution to regional economic in Zhuhai. Thedriving effect of the real estate industry is also discussed in detail.Real estate industry has a long industrial chain and close relationshipwith other industries, its changes often cause series of impacts to others,and sometime will threaten the stability of macroeconomic. Due to thedifferent relationships between real estate industry and others, the realestate industry drives the most obvious effects on the financial andinsurance industry, chemical industry, construction industry, socialservices, business and other industries. These industries are real estatedirectly-related industries. When making industrial policies to promotethe coordinated development of all industries, it should be necessary tobalance their proportion and scale in whole economic system. And it is specially crucial to allocate real estate industry a proper scale in order toavoid significant economic shocks and instability caused by unbalanceddevelopment of real estate industry.The regional economics of Zhuhai is a unique micro-economicsystem, despite the impact of the national economics as a whole, and hasvery unique features. This paper discusses the basic role of the realestate industry in the national economy and its general principles,and thespecial characters of real estate industry in Zhuhai regional economy.According to the Industrial Classification for National EconomicActivities (GB/T4754－2002), this paper clarifies its studying contentsof the real estate industry in Zhuhai, which include: real estatedevelopment and management, property management, real estateintermediary services and other real estate activities. The study of thispaper is mainly around these four aspects, and in particular, focuses onthe real estate market in the real estate development and management.This paper also uses SWOT as a tool to analyze the present situationand prospects of the real estate industry in Zhuhai, discusses the majorproblems and contradictions that exist in the real estate market in Zhuhai,and makes a prediction for the development of future real estate industryof Zhuhai according to the positioning and urban planning of Zhuhai.Finally, this paper focuses on coordinated economic developmentstrategy of real estate industry in Zhuhai, points out that the real estate industry must be coordinated with the development of other industries inorder to obtain maximum efficiency, and provides specific measures forthe coordinated development strategy on the basis of the aforementionedresearch and analysis.This paper, through the study of the relationship between real estateand economic development of Zhuhai, discusses the real estatedevelopment mode and direction in detail, makes analysis of economicdevelopment of Zhuhai in depth, and provides specific strategies anddirection for future development of real estate industry of Zhuhai.
