Research On Pharmaceutical Industry Competitiveness Of Jiangxi Province

Nowadays, the economic globalization is a mainstream of economic development in the world.It has become a national concerned topic to meet the challenges of economic globalization, and quickly enhance the industrially international competitiveness. The experience of Western countries in the industrial development in the past20years shows that the industrial clusters plays an irreplaceable role in promoting the industrial development, it also casts a very significant impact on the regional economic development, and becomes a major model of the global economic development.With the rapid development of modern biotechnology and pharmaceutical technology, biomedical industry as one of the high-tech industry has caused a major change in the pharmaceutical industry. Biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry has become one of the most active and the fastest growing industries.The pharmaceutical industry, which concerns people’s livelihood, is a high-tech special industries, also known as the "sunrise industry". It is one of the most promising international high-tech industries the world recognized, also the capital-intensive industry with the characteristics of high investment, high-yield, high-risk, high-return, market-oriented. Current pharmaceutical market has great potential and broad prospects,facing good developing opportunities.Thus, accelerating the pharmaceutical industry has become a strategic choice to maintain a leading edge for the developed countries, to strive to surpass for the late coming developing countries.In this context, with positive respond to the call of the national high-tech industrial development, Jiangxi provincial government combined the industrial development layout in Jiangxi Province and set the biological and pharmaceutical industry as one of the six pillar industries in Jiangxi Province, as one of the main ten strategic emerging industries of Jiangxi Province, as one of the eight strategic emerging industries of priority development of Nanchang, the capital city of Jiangxi Province. With the strong supports of the provincial and municipal departments, and the endeavor of the province’s pharmaceutical companies, the pharmaceutical industry has made considerable progress and excellent results in Jiangxi Province.This paper proposes the studying significance of this subject according to the background of selecting topic, and presents the author’s own research ideas on the basis of analyzing the domestic and internal research status. The writer first introduces the theory of industrial competitiveness, then builds the theoretical framework of this article through systematically understanding the research results at home and abroad, using the industrial location theory, industrial innovation theory and others; Secondly, it forms the competitiveness index evaluation system of the pharmaceutical industry on the basis of the theory overview, and combining the operating situations of the pharmaceutical industry in Jiangxi Province; Thirdly, it analyzes the Jiangxi pharmaceutical industry and its development status, selects the appropriate method and adopts empirical analysis to make reasonable evaluation on the cluster effect of Jiangxi pharmaceutical industry and its innovation efficiency; Fourthly, it analyzes the related experiences and lessons by using the representative case to make assessments. Finally, it makes some specific guidance and policy recommendations on enhancing the competitiveness of the pharmaceutical industry in Jiangxi Province, based on the results of the theoretical research, empirical evaluation and case studiesAccording to the basic framework of this paper, the studying content can be made the following arrangements:The first chapter, as the introduction of the full text, states the background and purpose, theoretical and practical significance of the thesis. It briefly introduces its ideas. contents and methods, and makes a brief comment on its main innovation.The second chapter is mainly about the related theory of industrial competitiveness and the research overview on the benefit assessment. It elaborates the historical background, characteristics and changes as well as the emerging necessity of the industrial competitiveness formation and development. In the aspect of effect assessment, it compares a variety of methods, finally confirms the location quotient value and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA method for short) to reveal the problem, and propose to solve the problemThe third chapter establishes the competitiveness evaluation system of the pharmaceutical industry in Jiangxi Province. Based on the literature study, it makes the in-depth analysis and research on the formation mechanism and affecting factors of the pharmaceutical industrial competitiveness, from the point of view of the comprehensive study. It works out the design principles of index system, establishes the competitiveness evaluation system with a lasting strategic significance for the Jiangxi pharmaceutical industry, interprets the key indicators and offers the calculation method of key indicators. And it makes the related related presentations on empirical methods.Chapter IV first adopts location quotient index analysis method to calculate the location quotient value of32provinces and municipalities in the country, compares the location quotient rank of Jiangxi Province in the country, so as to draw the relative developing degree of pharmaceutical industry cluster in Jiangxi Province. Moreover, it uses the factor analysis method to identify the key influencing factors of competitiveness and provide theoretical basis for the subsequent competitiveness evaluation.Chapter5is mainly on the empirical research on the innovation capacity of the pharmaceutical industry in Jiangxi Province. To Use the theoretical research results of the first four chapters, it makes an empirical research on the innovation capacity of the pharmaceutical industry in Jiangxi Province. It gains important statistics by the investigation and analysis of the relevant situations, works out the main features through case studies, and finds out the existing problems in the industrial development of industrial park and the places that can be improved and perfectedThe sixth chapter is mainly about the features of domestic and foreign pharmaceutical typical modes and experiences that can be learned.This paper analyzes and concludes the environment, features, experience of which the domestic and foreign typical regions emerged, such as the development mode of North Rhine Westphalia pharmaceutical industry in German, Boston "gene city" mode in America, pharmaceutical industrial clusters pattern of Zhangjiang High-tech Park in Shanghai. Thus,it can enlighten the provincial development of pharmaceutical industry with more practical significance.The seventh chapter is mainly on the policy and measures that improve the competitiveness of pharmaceutical industry in Jiangxi province. Based on the theoretical research results of the first six chapters, it puts forward the policies and measures in the choice of development pattern, the cultivation of competition advantages, the improvement of policy promotion, the environmental optimization, the cultivation of economic unit and so on, establishes the integrated management system, strengthens the cooperation in the regional pharmaceutical industry, promotes the pharmaceutical industrial structure upgrading, constructs the development strategy of pharmaceutical industrial innovation system and accelerates the promotion of pharmaceutical industry competitiveness of Jiangxi Province.The eighth chapter is the conclusion and prospect.This chapter summarizes the whole dissertation, prospects for the further study and the work direction.The paper mainly has the following innovations: 1. The research perspective is relatively novel. From the perspective of enhancing the industrial competitiveness of the less developed regions, the thesis makes reasonable proposals for the pharmaceutical industry development of the whole province from macroscopically layer, based on in-depth survey of Jiangxi pharmaceutical industrial situations; from microcosmic layer, it puts forward the appropriate development paths for the industrial clusters, solves the problems in the development of pharmaceutical industry such as the industrial linkage degree is low, industry association is inefficient, establishes the reasonable cluster internal operation mechanism, in order to promote the pharmaceutical industry reasonable, healthy and orderly developed, and pushes the national economy in Jiangxi province advanced and employment, livelihood and other related social benefit improved.2. It adopts location quotient index analysis method to assess the pharmaceutical industrial cluster degree of the country’s all regions, analyzes the development degree of Jiangxi province in the national pharmaceutical industry cluster, so as to make an evaluation on Jiangxi pharmaceutical industry competitiveness; it also uses the factor analysis to get the main factors that influence the pharmaceutical industry competitiveness in Jiangxi province. Based on this, it puts forward the evaluation index system and uses DEA method to make an empirical analysis on the effect, studying the existing problems, and bringing forward some solutions. Thus, it is unique in the method.3. Combined with case analysis, it explores the representative situation of industry operation, finally puts forward the competitiveness improvement, contributing to the promotion of Jiangxi pharmaceutical industrial competitiveness. Therefore, it also has some innovations.
