Taoism scriptures are the literatures of China’s traditional indigenous religions–Taoism. alarge number of Taoism scriptures,created from the Han Dynasty,record Taoism culture,ideology,conceptions as well as the composition and factors of Chinese language,so Taoismscriptures are the very important materials to the research of Chinese history, especially to thehistory of Chinese vocabulary.However, the research focus of the Taoism scriptures, currently, inthe academic literature are still in the fields of Ideological Philosophy, History, Philology,Religion, Medicine, Chemistry, Folk Culture and other fields,Few people do deep research fromthe points of language. The study of literature vocabulary is essential in the all aspects of carryingout the research to the Taoism scriptures from the points of language. the explanation of difficultwords is a link that can not be avoided in the work of vocabulary research. Because the time spanof the creation of Taoism scriptures are very long and the number are very large,so there are toomany difficult words accumulated in the books, which result in the the barriers ofunderstanding.In order to wipe out the barriers of understanding,the first work is to unplug the"stone" in these vocabularies. This thesis selects the difficult words from the Taoism scriptureabout laws as the object,trying to make as much as possible reasonable explanations, according tothe methods of demonstration, to these difficult words’ meanings in order to do some basic workto the reading and arrange of Taoism scripture,the research of chinese history,the establishing ofvocabulary theory as well as the compilation of the large-scale language dictionary.This thesis is mainly composed of three parts.The first chapter:Introduction. The chapter is divided into four parts, and each respectivelyintroduces the object of the study,research state,the significance and research methods.The second chapter: The explanation of characters. The chapter which consists ofexplanation of wrong characters and folk characters explains and distinguishes some wrongcharacters and folk characters that easily cause misunderstandings.The third chapter:The explanation of difficult words. The chapter explains and distinguishssome difficult words that were not explained or misunderstood by others and the words that werenot contained or wrongly explained in large-scale language dictionaries.
