As the most intuitive and central carrier of corporate culture,business philosophy guides business activities fundamentally, and tosome extent, promote the development and progress of corporations.Family and corporation motto, as a special product of Japanesecorporations, is fairly representative both the transmission from birth tomature and the close relationship with business philosophy andcorporate culture. Focusing on family and corporation motto to expandthe historical research on Japanese corporate business philosophy, helpsto grasp historical process and development of Japanese corporations,acknowledge the heritage pedigree and characteristics of the times,understand the concept building of contemporary Japanese corporations,and improve ethical construction of Chinese enterprises.In this paper, as the starting point, family and corporation motto systematizes the historical context, the basic content, the characteristicsof the times and the influence of Japanese business philosophy from ahistorical point of view combining the method of interdisciplinaryresearch, text analysis, macroeconomic co-ordination and case studies.Divided into four eras, modem times(mainly the Edo period),modern(from the Meiji Restoration to the end of World War II), afterwar(after World War II to1970s), contemporary(1970s), this paperintend to systematic research in the history of the Japanese businessphilosophy, by central the family and corporation motto, and finallyexplore the longevity of Japanese corporations to inspire Chineseenterprises that still in development.Base on previous studies, the author makes certain attempt both inthe selection of the theme to the research contents and methods andpresents relevant views. First of all, through the analysis of modernJapanese businessman families to contemporary corporations, researches in the development and change of Japanese corporate businessphilosophy from historical view, analysis the content of Japanesecorporate business philosophy and summarizes the pedigree of businessphilosophy corresponding to all time:"family ethics, familism,collectivism, social responsibilityā€¯. Secondly, generalizes the fourfeatures of the Japanese business philosophy, namely profound influenceby family culture, responsibility consciousness, inheritance of traditionalculture and modern spirit and combination of principle and flexibility. Inaddition, basic on the historical foundation, makes relatively, objectiveand historical evaluation to the Japanese business philosophy, andexplain own understanding and thoughts.
