The Effect Of Social Network In The Process Of Agricultural Technology’s Diffusion

Nowadays, agriculture in our country is in the vital period of transforming rapidly from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture, objectively requiring that new agricultural technology should become the most active and crucial factor in agricultural productivity. However, when agricultural technology creativity springs up constantly, a large number of achievements of agricultural technology creativity have not been spread and applied efficiently and have not sufficiently realized their value of improving agricultural productivity, thus they have not realized the supporting role of technology for agriculture modernization. Therefore, building an efficient system of spreading agricultural technology has become a pressing task which constructing modern agriculture encounters. Nevertheless, to make up a successful system of spreading agricultural technology, it is necessary to deeply research into the system to find out the laws in the spread of agricultural technology of China. In the rural society of China, spread of agricultural technology, limited by sociality of farmers, is inserted into existing social relationship net. Making out deeply the relationship between the spread of farmers’ technology and rural society net and revealing the functional mechanism that rural society net promotes the spread of farmers’ technology, are important questions in the research of spreading agricultural technology. On the basis of looking back on spreading agricultural technology and the theory of rural society net, this paper has used the data of field survey in peasant households and countryside to deeply research the role of social network in spreading agricultural technology, and then can afford theoretical recognition and basic proofs for related department to enact scientific policy of spreading agricultural technology. Hence, the topic has significant theory and realistic meaning.Based on dominance and recessiveness, the efforts of this paper are discussing three questions based on "The Effect of Social Network during the Process of Agricultural Technology’s Diffusion". Seen from surface layer and picture reproduction, the spread of agricultural technology shows as the flow of three key factors, and they have respective functions in it. From the dominance dimension, important resources as information, technology, capital, etc. embedded in the social network are analyzed to see how to realize agricultural diffusion with social network. Seen from deep layer and recessiveness, different types of social network in rural communities have allocated the needed sources in the spread of agricultural technology to households in various functioning mode. On this basis, functioning mechanism of promoting the spread of agricultural technology has been shaped and thus the spread of agricultural technology has been achieved. From the reccessiveness dimension, this paper promulgates and demonstrates the functioning organism of social network. The structure of this paper can be summarized into "totality-separation-totality". This paper will be divided into seven chapters. The first chapter sets out the background of the research. Chapter Two to chapter Three is the "totality" part. Chapter Two discusses the social network’s effect model during agricultural technology’s diffusion from the theoretical angle. Chapter Three expounds the function of social network during the process of agricultural technology diffusion from the historical and realistic dimension based on the introduction of the pig raising technology’s diffusion process in Majiawan Village. Chapter Four to Six is the "seperation"part. With the method of theoretical and empirical study, this part analyzes separately how the three elements do:the information, technology, and capital were affected by social network through agricultural technology diffusion. The focus will be put on the questions that what is the function of the flow of information, technology, capital, etc. on agricultural technology diffusion? Why does it function? How does it function? Chapter Seven is "totality" part, discussing the information, technology, capital three central elements as well as relevant subjective factors’functioning organism, including motivation organism, functioning organism as well as development organism. Chapter Eight sorts out and summarizes the major research outcomes and proposes the enlightenment of social network effects’study during the process of agricultural technology’s diffusion.The conclusion can be summarized into:Social network promotes information flow, transformation and upgrade of technology, allocation of funds, and indirectly boosts the spread of agricultural technology. In the spread of agricultural technology, information, technology and funds in the social network have their own functions and configuration mode. Social network has promoted the dynamic mechanism and operating mechanism of the spread of agricultural technology and adapted to its developing mechanism.
