Research On Diffusion Process And Effect Of Rice No-Tillage A Nd Seedling-Throwing Cultivation Technology

Guangxi is a major agricultural province in China, accelerating technology innovation and extension are critical factors in agricultural development. These factors are important initiatives to the construction of the modern agriculture&new socialism rural community. As a result, promoting farmers’adopt of no-tillage shoot-culture rice, an innovative achievement for Guangxi farming, is meaningful for income and production increase.From perspectives of diffusion of innovation and adoption, this paper is an empirical study, according to the fact that no-tillage cast-transplanted rice has been extended in Guangxi for more than a decade. The main research contents are as followings:1.literature review upon previous research objectives, procedures and practicability, as well as the possibility of diffusion and promotion plans of no-tillage shoot culture rice.2. Study on extension process through interviews with extension staff in different levels.3、Based on questionnaires and Participatory Rural Appraisal, make analysis upon influence factors to farmers’decision-making, effect of adopting and information transmission.4. Statistical analysis (SPSS) of decision-making, effect and impact factor, pattern of diffusion.5. How Guangxi innovated no-tillage shoot-culture rice extension approach, then give suggestions to the system of Guangxi and offer empirical basis to national reform of agriculture extension.The main findings are:1. Social structure in social network is a key factor of technical diffusion process.2. Communication in hamlet is the main approach to technology diffusion.3.Single aim of technology extension and diversity of farmers’demands are important effectors of technology diffusion.4.Evaluation of diffusion process can help to reduce the expecting result uncertainty.5.Effects of diffusion process is due to the farmers’understanding of the new technology.6.Whether the farmers adopt or refuse to use the new technology are determined by the factors of characters of farmer, technology and social structure. The main suggestions are:1. Explore more effecient approach of technology extension.2. Pay more attention to farmers themselves.3. Use target-group strategy.4. Consider different demands in different stages.5. Enhance farmer cooperatives’role to improve efficiency of technology extension.6. Do more research and evaluation.
