With the rapid development of information technology, information construction increasingly has received attention and promotion from the architectural/engineering/construction enterprises/organizations.Infrastructure plays an irreplaceable part in ensuring everyday order in a country's or region's socioeconomic activities. In order to guarantee usability and safety of infrastructures during their entire service lives, continuous improvement of maintenance work is necessary.Due to the specific features of infrastructures — such as their long-term,intensive,dispersed maintenance need, massive volume, the fragmentation and enormous amount of information — there are problems in the application of traditional maintenance management methods. These include extensive management, high labor intensity, low efficiency, and information isolation.Information construction in infrastructure maintenance management is an effective approach to achieve fine management and improve maintenance work efficiency. To provide decision support for infrastructure operators during the information construction process,it is necessary to study the quantified evaluation methods of infrastructure maintenance management information construction, analyze informationized implementation model of maintenance management, and identify the essence of information construction impact on maintenance processes.Based on document review and field survey, the characteristics of maintenance management work were summarized.Maintenance management can be grouped into two parts: production work and technical management. These two parts mainly comprise six processes: preventive inspection, maintenance work, material management, quality management, cost management, and labor management. To establish the basis for successive research work of informationized implementation model, different types of maintenance data were listed with the analysis of maintenance work contents.Based on the investigation of existed maintenance management information systems(MMIS)and user interface related literature, informationized implementation models of maintenance management work were summarized.Quantified evaluation scheme of infrastructure maintenance information construction was proposed bycoupling Keystroke-Level Model with Discrete-event Business Process Simulation.Different roles of users were considered in the scheme by setting the roles' weights according to their utilization of information systems. The scheme was adopted to study the impact of informationized implementation model on each sub-process and different roles of users at the maintenance management process level.During empirical study, four stages of information construction in a subway enterprise were selected as four typical cases.Through dynamic simulation of the maintenance management work processes, the impact of four informationized implementation models on each sub-process and user experience was comparatively analyzed from both functional and nonfunctional aspects. The application of the proposed scheme in rail transit maintenance and landslide monitoring projects has demonstrated its availability in quantified evaluating various informationized implementation models(various MMIS)and different scenarios. As a kind of ex-ante evaluation model, the proposed scheme can be applied before the application of information systems,by which the unnecessary loss of infrastructure operator can be avoided.
