《Zhuang-zi》’s "True Knowledge"

I cannot help but want to raise such a question.Is today’s era we live in,significantly different from that of ancient China Warring States Period when Zhuang-zi had lived in?As everyone knows,in Chinese history the Warring States Period is,being filled with desire and ambition to become a superpower,occupied by the wars and chaos era,;in order to ensure the superiority of their politic power,and to monopolize the economic conditions,there were so many wars,killing innocent victims.Accordingly people’s lives,just like autumn leaves not to find a way to stop rolling,were plunged into the abyss of evil.On the other hand,in order to correct misconducts and save the disordered society,hundreds of different philosophers have put forward their own views,and even launched a quarrel and debate from time to time.Now,we call the modern world we live in for the global village.By a cellular phone on hand,we can communicate with the whole world.The use of sophisticated means of communication and transportation,the whole world has become a "day trips".In the past to the degree that can’t be imagined,all the things in the earth including people,and nature have become close neighbors.However,although transportations and communications become more developed,life of people becomes more convenient,,on the contrary,between individual and individual,groups and groups,countries and countries,between human and nature the relationship is in worsening day by day.Let see what has happened on earth now! It is not so difficult to find a newspaper articles that are describing the wars and conflicts in global places.Because of opposing philosophies and wanton,quarrels,contemptuous action have occurred from time to time.Moreover in the name of public interest and rationalism,the diversity of individual or plurality of minorities are ignored or not identified.Especially mankinds are in making money,very eager to expand their own interests and desires,in order to make money,even for a moment they do not stop the developing and destroying the natural assets.Moreover,with this denial of diversity and pluralism,materialism breeds arrogance and frustration;in the polarization,the winner can be arbitrarily enjoy the happiness,while losers doomed to live in frustration,ultimately the loss of human values and dignity lead them to commit suicide to end their precious lives.Despite the lack of specific statistics for the support,but I believe that if the death that were occurred in Zhuang-zi’s era is due to the simple result on survival instinct,then today’s death,it is driven by a desire and ambition for fame and fortune,resulting in a twisted type of death,from this point of view,the death of today seems more miserable.Therefore,the world today than ever before,are in need of a peaceful coexistence between individual,groups,nations,races and even in the relations between human and nature.At the same time,a variety of books and researches,lots of thought and religions have also been appearing,but these are just a contemporary version of a hundred philosopher’s way of thinking of thought though,is still far from enough to grow in wisdom,guarantee of human value and dignity,and construct a co-existing peaceful world.In this situation,with its unique ""Tao"theory",leading the way of thinking from "human centered" world view,into "the universe centered" universal view,Zhuang-zi’s philosophy has the vital significance.On the "Zhuang-zi",the criticism of the scholars believe that the "Zhuang-zi"thought,too metaphysics,the lack of reality,and even with a certain fantasy.At the same time,it claims ’ Zhuang-zi philosophy shows,’abandon the wisdom’,return to basics’,’ conform to the tendency of nature’,let human hold inactive and passive attitude towards life.But the author thinks this is just over.But obviously,if Zhuang-zi is passive,retiring from the world,naturally he would not spend great effort to write works of more than 10 thousand words.More important is,at the time that darkness and confusion of the times,Zhuang-zi against the ruling class,through his unique ironic condemnation,especially,against the official ideologies of Confucianism,would not cite the sharp criticism,in view of these situations and circumstances easily it can be seen that Zhuang-zi’s attitude is not the negative masquerade,but progressive and reformative.In the "Zhuang-zi",there are numerous literary allusion,therefore,The author investigates lot of the valuable meaning of Zhuang-zi’s philosophical thought.That is to say,they are such as "Zhen-zhi"(真知:true knowledge)and " In-shi "(因是:in which all creation should be in their natural state of being,pertaining their natural characteristics and logic,without any "fixed/artificial" principles)and " Qi-Wu"(齐物:things change continuously,so there is no nature distinguish among them,also means equality of all things)"Wu-wei"(无为:inaction inactivity letting things take their own course)concepts.In other words briefly,Zhuang-zi conveys to the human several kind of wisdom.First,the seeking the true knowledge of wisdom in life;second,getting rid of the shackles,beyond all the differences and inequality in human life,go for a peaceful universal life;third,through such as" Xin-qi"(心齐:be united in spirit),"Zuo-wang"(坐忘:sitting oblivion)cultivating the body and mind,training smooth heart and spirit,enjoying numerous days as a healthy life;Fourth,beyond live and dead,pursuing eternal freedom in the resting place,Paradise.
