Narrative Plight Of The Film Adaption Of The Fiction Since 1980s

As Film is closely related to fiction which provide vivid characters and stories of suspense,Novel adaptation of the film has become an important part of the history of cinema.Therefore,the study of the film adaptation of the novel is helpful for the development of fiction and movie interdisciplinary media.Generally,the film adaptation of the novel,which has made important contributions to the development of Chinese contemporary movie,is successful since the 1980 s.However,there are some narrative problems in the movie adaptation of the novel.Therefore,to objectively study the problems in the film adaptation of the novel is important for the long-term development for the film adaptation.Only to identify the problems and to face up with the problems,can we find ways for the improvement and development of the film industry.Meanwhile,the research questions also enrich the film adaptation of research disciplines,and enable them to develop broader and deeper.Though there are some relationship between in film and fiction,It is necessary to study the use of narrative,semiotics,rhetoric,and intertextuality theory in the film adaptation for the difference.The study of the problems in the film adaptation since the 1980 s will be executed from three aspects as the contents,forms and their causes and solutions.This Dissertation study the following factors as themes,characters,story and the narrative strategies.The study of contents focuses on the theme,characters and story.The original work and market are the two factors which determined the value of the film and its theme.If the original spirit of the style is not high,the quality of the movie is not satisfying.There is a big gap between the original work and the film because of the degrading of the original spirit.There are the sex replacement of the original characters in the film adaptation which shows the gender castration.The gender replacement contradictory which refers to the women �other� desires and the market-oriented motivation often lead to deviate from the character logic.Thus,the results are exaggerated performances and unrealistic action fantasy.Some kitsch of the story in the film adaptation are the price which the director must pay.It is not strange that violence worship and the sexual imagination become the fundamental elements for a movie.At the same time,the image of the ancient Chinese is also the key to attract the public.With regard to the narrative strategies,there is a big difference between fiction and film narrative.The fiction has the advantage of the use of the rhetoric which can not be effective in the film or performance.This difference leads to the absence of characters charming in film.Technologically,the cinematic forms,which consist of the details of the film,the convergence of plot and the rhythmic,play an important role of carrier in the film.The details of the specific issues often involve various types of disorders of characters and the story logic of vulnerability.The convergence of plot mainly shows a partial convergence abruptness and the blank of convergence.The slow and weakness of rhythm reflected this type of problem.The solution of these problems need to consider the factors such as the media difference,the external environment,internal mechanism,the essential difference and so on.The exploration on the causes helps to avoid the repetition and occurence of similar problems.
