A Study Of Vocabulary In Tsinghua Bamboo Slips (1-5)

Tsinghua bamboo slips are a group of bamboo slips of the Warring States Period which have been collected in Tsinghua University in 2008.These bamboo slips are rich in content and have important significance and value in research and development of ancient philology,archeology,ancient history,academic history and linguistics.Tsinghua bamboo slips measured by the carbon 14 and corrected by the tree wheel,the data for the 305 ± 30 years BC,the writing of the lower limit when not far from this.The lexical research on the unearthed literature is of great significance on the study of the vocabulary history and its development in the pre-Qin period.This paper comprehensively examines the whole vocabulary of Tsinghua bamboo slips(1 to 5),and uses the quantitative and qualitative research methods.Firstly,the vocabulary of Tsinghua bamboo slips is divided into two categories: monosyllabic and polysyllabic.The word and semantics of monosyllabic words are described and examined in detail.The distribution of syllable distribution,the distribution of lexical parts and the distribution of grammatical structure are carried out.And compares the vocabulary of Tsinghua bamboo slips with The Great Chinese Dictionary,and sums up some new words and new meanings of Tsinghua bamboo slips and the example of the citation which are before The Great Chinese Dictionary.Through the study,we believe that the characteristics of Tsinghua bamboo slips vocabulary is in line with the pre-Qin period of Chinese vocabulary status,and also have some of their own characteristics and style.On monosyllabic words,word class development has been very rich,nouns,verbs,adjectives are still the main body of the lexical system,in which the development of verbs is remarkable.Numbers are well developed.Measured words are less developed and so on.In terms of polysyllabic terms,the nouns produce a large number of compound nouns in a compound way,and the development of the polysyllabic verb is not quite sufficient compared with the monosyllabic verbs.The polysyllabic words of Tsinghua bamboo slips accounted for about 40%,is roughly the same with the later period of Han Feizi.
