A Study On Zhou Yongnian And A Collection Of Chorogophic Literature About Suzhou Buddhism

A Collection of Chorogophic Literature about Suzhou Buddhism is an agglomeration of Suzhou Buddhism.This book were compiled by Zhou Yongnian in the 17 th century.We should study this book carefully and comprehensively.Based on the study of the text,my thesis tries to make clear the context of the whole book and find out the situation of the interaction between literature and Buddhism in this particular cultural area.My thesis consists of three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.Introduction describes the basic meaning of the topic,research status and problems,research methods.There are 7 chapters in the main body,which includes the following 4 aspectsFirst,I try to research the compiler 's life and thought.I also want to find out the specific circumstances of the edition of the book.Zhou's thought is very complex,but his biography is very few and scattered in many literatures.In this thesis,I makes a textual research on Zhou Yongnian's thoughts about Buddhism,history and literature.This thesis also analyzes the structure and the ideological connotation of " A Collection of Chorogophic Literature about Suzhou Buddhism" edited by Zhou Yongnian.Secondly,from the perspective of literature,I did a research.Every part of the book begins with a rhyme which is the key to understand each of the content,but also the key to understand the framework of the book structure.A lot of poetry and prose which had been written and present by the literati and monks to each other.Through the analysis of these works,we can more deeply understand the living conditions of the Buddhist monk group.At the same time,it can also be felt that under the influence of Buddhist culture,this literature works are different from traditional literature.In the process of the development of Buddhist temples,literature sometimes plays a very important role.Hanshan Temple is a good example.Third,from the cultural point of view,I studied the cultural factors behind the steady development of Buddhism in Suzhou for more than a thousand years.The characteristic of Suzhou local culture is the theme of advocating literature and advocating Buddhism.Therefore,it has formed a unique concept of "harmony and unity".This concept has a profound impact on Buddhist culture and literature.Finally,I researched the vision value of this book.By comparing with other literatures,this paper reveals the historical value and the edition value of the book of the history of Buddhism in Suzhou.I have also identified a number of important documents that have been lost in other literature.Because of the wide coverage of this book,this study is limited to Literature and culture.It also involves the problems of economy,architecture,folklore,religion and so onConclusion,summarizes the achievements and shortcomings of the existing research and points out the new direction of the research about this book.
