As we all know, historical materialism as Marx's new world view is based on production of labor, and the labor theory thus becomes the basic content of historical materialism. However, the status and significance of labor theory in the whole historical materialism is the problem that the current marxist philosophy research needs to be further clarified. In recent years,an important research trend of domestic scholars is from the discussion of practical viewpoints to the field of historical materialism, focusing on the interaction between theoretical consciousness and problem consciousness, intellectual history and classical texts. In this context, the study on the basic concepts and important propositions of historical materialism has become the meaning of deepening the research on historical materialism.Labor theory bears the brunt. In the existing research, although labor is referred to as the theoretical fulcrum of historical materialism, the understanding of Marx's labor theory often goes to one-sided,or falls into the intellectual confrontation between general and concreteness, scientificity and humanism, descriptive and critical. In this case, the unique properties of historical materialism and internal tension are absent. This kind of understanding is also widely existed in modern western theorists' criticism of historical materialism, therefore,it is also necessary to reunderstand and locate Marx's labor theory in response to the misunderstanding of western theorists. In addition, the development of contemporary labor also raises new questions to Marx's labor theory: The major changes in the form, characteristics and significance of labor not only go far beyond the concrete contents of Marx's labor theory, but also make some older labor concepts and labor relations lag behind our times.Changing the concept of labor and adjusting labor relations have become a realistic problem that must be faced in the study of labor theory.Based on the above understanding, the text intends to re-examine Marx's labor theory reform from the perspective of historical materialism, and restore the inherent tension and rich contents of Marx's labor theory, and highlight the contemporary significance and value of Marx's labor theory.Marx's reform of labor theory originated in the Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts in 1844,and it goes beyond the traditional theory of labor in that it associates labor with the creation of human nature, highlights the elements of freedom in labor that transcend nature.Based on this,Marx elaborated the social and historical connotation of labor in the German Ideology, and developed a critique of the political economy of modern labor in Das Kapital. From the point of view of Marx's own thought evolution, the reform of labor theory has a foundation effect on the birth of historical materialism.First of all,Marx makes labor to be the most basic form of practice and endow labor with the highest sense of teleological meaning, which not only contains the negation of the way of thinking of the absolute truth of traditional philosophy, but also gives birth to a way of thinking centered on human emotional activity or real life process. This is the practical point of view which was clearly expressed in Theses on Feuerbach.Secondly, the practice of integrating labor into practice means that the productive or negative nature of labor is promoted as the fundamental principle of social life.Based on the production of labor, all political forms, moral norms and ideologies no longer have an independent appearance, but should be understood as the existence of history and change. The basic point of these historical materialism is expressed in German Ideology.Thirdly, labor is to be interpreted as the basis of whole society life, and it means that the mystery of the development of social history should be sought from the change of the labor form, and the modern society should be viewed from the perspective of self-division of labor and self-contradiction.Das Kapital is Marx's critique of capitalism from the beginning of labor.Marx's labor theory contains three essential dimensions, namely, affirmative, critical and ideality. The three dimensions constitute the most basic content of historical materialism: describing the content of human existence, criticizing the content of modernity society, and caring for the consummation of human nature.First of all,Marx has reached a new understanding of the problem of labor through a reinterpretation of the problem, and the focus of philosophy has been transferred from the abstract of the traditional philosophy to the concrete social history. The social history exists as the core content of human's real life process, and embodies the individual existence and "class existence",the social relations based on labor and the historical development based on labor.Secondly,Marx emphatically criticized the labor form as the basis of the capitalist mode of production, and in the dialectical understanding of the existing labor form,it revealed the survival dilemma of modern people and the possible way out.Thirdly,Marx's affirmative understanding and critical understanding of labor leads to the value ideal of the future labor, namely, the aesthetic vision of the completion of human nature through free labor, which plays an important leading role in demonstrating the value concern of historical materialism.Marx 's theory of labor is always embedded in Marx' s philosophy of philosophy and social criticism, which is of particular importance in the support of Marx 's philosophy of philosophy and of social criticism. To reveal the modern value of the historical materialism, the important role of the concept of labor is irreplaceable, and the rich content of the labor theory is indispensable, and the problem of labor is a very, very weak, but very important, practical problem in the study of the future.
