Political parties play a major role in the political arena of the world today.And various political parties govern most countries and regions in the world.Their governing capacity and efficiency,which rely on the self-construction of their own,have become an important part of comprehensive national strength competition.Globally,although the ruling parties in different countries differ in their ruling mode and style,they all face the problem of reforming and strengthening self-construction.And this is a big problem concerning the party's destiny and the country's future.Party building is a complicated systematic project,including the construction of ideology,organization,work style,institutional improvement and anti-corruption.But it is cogitative to think that ideological construction should be placed in the first place and that it is the premise and basis of the others.Besides,in the process of ideological construction,we will find that a political party's view of value,as a subject cognitive of the party,is of great significance to its ideological construction.To some extent,ideological construction is "the philosophy of establishing the party".Without this "philosophy",especially without its core values,the party will become soulless.Core values,as the center of the all,play a dominant role and support the survival and development of the party.In this sense,this paper presents the concept of the core values of the Communist Party of China.In fact,the core values of the Communist Party of China exist in reality.However,they have never been put forward specifically and concisely.Therefore,this concept,based on the current Chinese environment,is of great practical relevance.Now,the practice of building socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a critical period.Communist Party of China is facing dual tasks of ideological construction and running the Party with rules under need of comprehensively strengthening Party discipline.In reality,the ideal and belief of some party members and cadres is shattered.They are lost in mental confusion and lack of faith.They not only damage the party's image and impede the great project of party building,but also influence the great cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics.The reality asks for a spiritual guideline to reshape their belief.From the perspective of the ruling party,they need a spiritual pillar that can help to unite people,so as to get rid of the shadow of international communist movements' low tide brought about by dramatic change of the USSR and eastern European countries and achieve long-term governance objectives.In addition,China has made great efforts in cultivating and practicing the socialist core values,and it also asks the ruling party to provide an ideological guidance.These facts suggest that it is necessary to clarify the concept of core values of the Communist Party of China and summarize them.These two steps are not only the requirement of the party building,but also the demand of the times.According to history,Marxist gave birth to the Communist Party of China and helped it grow and develop.Thus,its core values are bound to reflect the nature,principle and purpose of a Marxist party of the proletariat.Finding a logical starting point of the study will help us to exploit and grasp the concept,nature and content of core values of the Communist Party of China.Of course,studying this concept and proving its existence is not the only purpose of the paper.Moreover,it tends to take the status quo of both China and Communist Party of China into consideration and makes a logical research which includes basic theory,concrete content and method.This paper is divided into six chapters,focusing on the definition of the core values of the Communist Party of China.And the theme is further divided into three parts.Chapter I introduces the premise of the paper,which analyzes the reason why it is necessary to put forward a concise concept of core values of Communist Party of China.The second,third,fourth and fifth chapters are the main body of the paper.They discuss the definition of the core values ranging from basic theory to concrete content.After the clarification of the definition of the core values,Chapter VI pays attention to the background of contemporary party building of China and links it to the construction of core values.It is an extension of the foregoing chapters.In accordance with this logic,chapters of this paper are summarized as follows:Chapter ? describes the bases of core values of the Communist Party of China,which serves to prove that core values are not put forward out of nothing.As real beings,core values urge us to clarify the content and use them to guide practice.Furthermore,the bases come from three aspects: Firstly,the Chinese Communist Party's core values enjoy a long history.They are deeply rooted in the history of China,the history of the international communist movements and the history of its own.Secondly,core values of Chinese Communist Party have their own solid theoretical foundation.The Communist Party of China regards Marxism as its guidance and criterion.Marxism,Maoism,which is Marxism's theorical result of the development in China and theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics prove the existence of the core values and help offer theoretical bases.Thirdly,based on the status quo of China,the activity of defining core values of the Communist Party of China concisely has its realistic basis.It is meaningful in corroborating the ideal and belief of party members and cadres when Communist Party of China places high demands on the party;it helps people get rid of the shadow of international communist movements' low tide so as to achieve long-term governance objectives as well as guide the cultivation and practice of core values.With historical analysis method,this paper compares history with present and shows the necessity of summarizing core values of the Communist Party of China concisely.Chapter ? discusses the theoretical connotation of core values.It means to put forward the concept and foreshadows its summarization.This chapter starts from the basic concept of party values,and then makes further exploitation.From outside to the inside,from the general to the specific,Chapter II grasps the essence of the concept of core values and analyzes their characteristics.In addition,chapter II also analyzes the function point of core values from the perspective of world,nation and party in order to understand them more profoundly and give way to their concrete contents.Section III of this chapter is of great importance in the paper.It summarizes the content of the Chinese Communist Party's core values abstractly,namely the motif of core values,basic value principles and the ultimate value objectives.Especially,"Core","Basic" and "Ultimate" embody the meaning of “Core” while "Motif","Principle" and "Objective" is the main content of “Values”.This section also leads to content of core values.All in all,this chapter goes from the easy to the difficult,and comes to the conclusion that the core values of the Communist Party of China has a solid theoretical foundation.Chapter ?,? and ? are the main body of the paper.They focus on the core values of Communist Party of China and discuss three parts of the core values,namely " people's supremacy","seeking truth from facts" and "human liberation",for these three parts are the core of the party's values and reflect the party's class attribute,sense of purpose,value principles and aims.Likewise,these three chapters also follow the logic of the theory and history and adopt the method of historical analysis and comparative analysis.They learn from the lessons of other ruling parties like the Soviet Communist Party and present the theory sources or connotation.After reviewing and summarizing the party's cognition and practice from a historical perspective,these three chapters analyze the reason why they can become the party's core values in the end,which is also the conclusive content.Based on the research and the situation when Communist Party of China places high demands on the party,Chapter VI tries to explain the way to build the core values of Communist through organization,style,institution and anti-corruption construction.Because the construction of core values of the Chinese Communist Party is one part of the party's ideological construction,put it in the overall layout,process and practice of comprehensively strengthening Party discipline to carry out strategic positioning,face the challenge,it is practical and to the point to explain it from the other four dimensions.Adopting the method of systematic analysis,this paper takes the background of running the party strictly into consideration and concludes that the construction of the core values of the Communist Party of China is not an individual combat but a collaborative project.
