The Application And Verification Of Collective Action's Emotion And Cognition Dual Paths In Football Fans' Violence

From perspective of collective action,this thesis made a research on the psychological mechanism of football fan's violence,dimensions of China's football fan's collective identity,application of two integrated collective action theories in football fan's mechanism by means of documentary and questionnaire.The main results and conclusions are as follows:(1)The five-demensioned football collective identity questionnaire is suitable for China's football fan research.(2)The analysis of 354 football fans survey shows both Dynamic Dual Pathway Model of Approach Coping(DDPMAC) and Encapsulation Model of Social Identity in Collective Action(EMSICA)are feasible for football fan's violence psychological mechanism.Dual paths of emotion and cognition are important channels for the outbreak of football fan's violence.However,DDPMAC is probably more suitable for football fans for their relatively stable collective identity and in-group preference and out-group bias.(3)The analysis of 216 football fans survey shows the dual paths of emotion and cognition of DDPMAC model are not significantly different for people with high group identity and this result is not consistent with DDPMAC prediction.The reason is probably the complicated relation between collective efficacy and violence types.The dual paths of emotion and cognition have approximately same prediction for the outbreak of mild violence among people with high group identity.The dual paths of emotion and cognition have different prediction for the outbreak of fierce violence among people with high group identity which means emotion path may have positive prediction and cognition path may have negative prediction.(4)The analysis of 100 football fans survey shows football fan's violence is caused by various factors including some outside factors such as referee,visiting team player and visiting team fans.The regression analysis showed that unfair feeling,angry emotion,group identity and group efficacy could be predictive for football fan's violence intention. The mixture of various factors may be strongly predictive for football fan's violence intention.
