Contemporary China is in the modern transformation process, the rapid development of economic globalization makes the society more diverse culture and values, character education for existing pupils put forward newer and higher requirements, strengthen character education has become the internal development of the times Claim. Among many ways in character education, school education has been used as the main way of character, plays a very important role in the formation of character,especially in character education in primary school is a top priority. Since students are the main body of the country's future development, their moral consciousness determine the future of the country's overall level of morality, while the children's mental and physical are in the early stages of growth, highly adaptable, so they need proper guidance and care from parents and teachers. Then, in the primary school life how the status of implementation of character education, became the target of many scholars attention. This paper expands studies about character education of social subject, details below.Firstly, clear research background and significance, it is possible to define the concepts of research, analysis of the current status of pupils character behavior, explained the reasons that caused the current status,clear the real significance of character education. Discussion on the connotation of the core values of integrity and character, and explains the basic features of character and integrity core values, codes of conduct and categories in different countries to discuss the contents of the character of the value of the project.Secondly, this paper also studied the formation of character and influencing factors, has discussed the reason of the poor performance of the character, and defined the basic concepts, principles and policies of the character, explained the principles of character education in the domestic and foreign scholars, summarized the principles has beenproposed on character education. At the same time, we draws on the experience of the United States of New Character movement, study the basic principles and the practice strategy of the US New Character movement, and draw inspiration New Character Education in American history to our character education.Finally, according to the status of the current character education class, we proposed the design of class which adapted to our social development, it has abandon bad character education models and tools,and promote the diversification of teaching methods of character education, clear goals of elementary social class and Character Education training objectives. And to make the elementary social studies become an important channel to achieve character education, to know the character education and understanding of elementary social studies are closely linked and inseparable.This paper based on the current situation in Shanghai primary character education for the survey, stressed the importance of primary social studies curriculum for character education, and we hope the schools can improve the status of elementary social studies curriculum to some extent, to make students can better formed the moral consciousness,realization moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, labor-round development of health.
