Influence Of College Students' Internet Literacy On Internet Addiction

The Internet has undergone a significant evolution from the initial platform of technological application and information acquisition to the current media of mass communication,virtual culture,environment and society.College students born after the 1990"having grown together with the Internet are called '"Digital Natives'".The Internet helps to satisfy their inner demand for self-actualization and sense of achievement.However,the recent excessive and inappropriate use of Internet by the college students has led to problems of interpersonal relationship,physical and psychological health,time managemet and self control,which reflects double side of Internet technology.The level of risks facing college students depends directly on their Internet literacy.Currently in China there is a significant shortage of conceptual and theoretical interpretations,empirical researches on youth Internet literacy,as well Internet addiction.In order to respond college students' Internet literacy and addiction in the new media environment,the domestic and foreign theoretical as well as empirical researches were synthesized to establish a framework to build the concept resulting in dimensional model of this paper.After reviewing and revising the scale at home and abroad,we distributed questionnaires to one thousand college students at nine universities in Dalian.Using the factor analysis,we explored the five dimensions of Internet literacy of college students and their characteristics.Using correlational and regressional analysis,we are able to establish and expand the model of college students' Internet literacy influencing Internet addiction to reveal internal mechanism of the college students' Internet literacy.There are five factors affecting Internet addiction,which were used to paint portraits of high-risk groups among college students.According to the Marxist Alienation Theory and Theory of Media System Dependency,the media,society and audience triangle research perspectives are quoted in thesis of analising manifestations,causes of dependence and addiction among mobile SNS represented by the media.SNS are used by college students with the popularity of smartphones and 4 G Internet network.Based on mechanism of college students' Internet addiction multi-factor influential model,we use the experience of the Internet literacy education in the developed countries.Owning to social,school and education via family,friends,relatives,as well self-educating and construction of prevention mechanism against college students' addiction to Internet use,which is more targeted and effective in the political or literacy education.It is greatly significante to prevent and minimalize incidences of college students' Internet addiction.
