Student,as an individual,a group or an element of education, has always been a focus topic of educational researches.Cognitions of student also have a profound meaning on education system. However, with the increasing complexity of the educational system and school system, more and more new-educational theories have been emerged, which makes the notion of student complicated. In this context,to clarify the notion and status of student seems very important. Therefore, this study takes students' role as the theme, and tries to respond to the ontological topic of students with the perspective of role-theories.The aim is to clarify student and its process in the educational system. This study takes "conceptions of student" as the research object, and takes policy makers, educational researchers, teachers and students as the main source of conceptions of student and main sections of educational system. Also,it takes the role-theories as the framework and takes inductive logic as the basic logic to analyze the topic of students' role. With the analysis of role conceptions,it is necessary to start from four aspects:status, relationship, expectation and behavior which reflect the process of education. In this process,it is found that:(1)Policy makers usually focus on the logic of"expectation" to think about the role of students, from expectations of general person to the specific students' role expectations. In the text of policies,it's always focus on the students' learning results(expectations)which can be divided to 5 dimensions(moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, labor). The way of describing students' role always be stable in policies, but the denotations of students will increase with the development of the society.(2)Educational researchers tend to think about the role of students with the logic of "relationship and status".Based on the exploration and summary of the relationship-objects,educational researchers mainly discuss students'role under the topic of learning, teaching and curriculum. The structure of students' role seems stable at this level, but the content of relationship changes easily.(3)Teachers and students tend to think about the role of students with the logic of "behavior".In the conception of teachers and students, students' behavior pattern including 5 aspects(action, material, identity, surrounding, status)is mainly embodied in the traditional learning behavior and learning supplies. And it always focuses on classroom teaching and learning activities. In summary, subjects of the educational system tend to think about students' role in different logic, and this reflects the process of students' role, from expectation to realization. In other words,it shows the process of student's self, from top to bottom, from outside to inside, and from alter to ego. Also,it shows that student,as an element,is the alter which is produced by educational system.By analyzing characteristics of this process and by showing scenes of education about students' role,we found that:(1)The inherent complexity of students' role originates from the different subjects' logic of expectation, relationship, status and behavior. This conflict leads to many problems in education, and the solution is to dispel the conflicts or to integrate the conception of students' role.(2)The role of students has a close relation with teaching and learning in the classroom which has become the breakthrough point of the students' role.(3)In order to make students" like some of the students",schools have construct a behavior control system.Based on the discussion above, this study suggests that the study of student's role can be an effective framework of student, and it reflects that student is the key issue of logic conflicts of curriculum system and educational system.A balance needs to find to balance freedom and control.
