Traditionally, scarcely participating in parenting work directly, the so-called "father" is just an alternative name for "breadwinner". But along with the progress and development of society, the irreplaceably and potentially important role the father plays in the young children’s growing up begins to receive attention, recognition and attention. In view of the facts, the "breadwinner" can not meet the pluralistic social need of the "father". The study shows the father’s role differs in the aspects of practice and aspects of expectation and comprehension. This embodies in the aspect of responsibility:the lack of time and the mistake in contents. The data from questionnaire survey proclaims the current situation of the fathers’actual performance further:overall, the will precede the ability and responsibility. It’s life caring segment the young children’s father perform the worst.According to the survey data,on the basis of the combination of empirical evidence and logical thinking, role types are designated:"responsible type", "unable type", "fleeing type" and "derelict type".Although the role of the father in responsibility is deficient, the fact "responsible type" is in the majority is undeniable, the only difference is the will and the ability of the father’s role. The reason for why the role of young children’s father present this situation is how does the father himself, the family and the society construct the father’s role.In order to stimulate the will of the young children’s father’s role, and the ability to improve the role of the father, measures should be taken. The father, the family and the society should work together to help the young children’s fathers to perfect their role.
