Scholars' academic behavior is determined by the external and internal factors, which including the academic environment and the academic system as the external factors, the scholars' own academic values or academic spirit as the internal ones. Since the end of the 20th century, we have been baffled about how to regulate the frequently occurred misconducts owing to young teachers' deviation from academic standard. Therefore, it is compulsory for us to change our ways to solve these problems. By reviewing the development of Chinese modern academic system, we can find that the causes involve not only the external factors like the society, the economy and the culture, but also the internal factors concerning the formation of young teachers' academic values. In order To meet the need of the modern market economy and realize the orderly-developed academy, it is attempted to settle such problems as "who is a scholar?" or "what does a scholar do?"Meanwhile, it is figured out "value consensus" and "value code" in the academic world,which will be helpful to construct an academic value system for young college teachers. In this background, a study on academic values of young college teachers has been carried out both theoretically and practically.Academic values consist of four basic elements, covering value guidance of academic goals, adjustment of value in academic activities, relationship between scholars and stakeholders and value norms of academic behaviors. Young college teachers are the aggregation of intellectuals and youth groups, who are practitioners and successors of academic values while they are also the subject and object of academic value construction.Academic values include a set of views by which a scholar deals with his/her interests and their relationship to cognition, understanding, judgment or choice in academic activities under a certain historical and cultural background. In the academic value system, interests are the foundation of academy and values while management acts as the intermediary.Fairness is the criterion for testing the value of academic practice.In the process of the development and transformation of China's modern academic system, academy and the inner logic of academic research are the internal power, while administrative power and social demands are the external force. The co-act of both forces leads to the development and transformation of academy. Internal forces contribute to the formation of internal institutions in the development of academic system, while external forces mainly build a set of external institutions, which constitute a "double evolution procedure" in the transformation of the academic system. In the process of transformation,there developed the mainstream academic values of studying for academy itself as well as some subsidiary values like thoughts of practical statecraft, pragmatism, individualism,utilitarianism and delicate egoism.Young college teachers have the obvious intergeneration-character. Academic researchers with dual identity are not only the subject of academic study, but also social members. They undertake both academic and social responsibility. Meanwhile, they pursue the social benefit and individual interests. Academic professionalization makes the academic world more institutionalized and the academic management more precise. Thus, in this more bureaucratic academic world, Academic value conflict to management value, and the economic value of academy is superior to its internal value. The academic system becomes more and more rigid , which has caused the academic researchers "assimilated" by the system. Academic research has been turned into a kind of "academic production" and a tool for earning one's bread. In a market-economy society, it puts economic return in the first place. The scholars pay more attention to cost-effectiveness ratios of input and output,which means obtaining the maximum economic benefit with the least cost. Meanwhile, the emergence of non-academic factors has made academic researches become a short-term behavior to seek quick success and instant benefits. The individual interests of academic research shelters the social value. Some people make use of public goods for private purposes, academic research becoming a tool to seek personal gain. The misplacement of academic values makes some young teachers regard various utilitarianism objectives as the highest value of academic research, but ignore even destroy the most essential and important value, that is, the dignity and value of human nature. There are various behaviors of deviation from academic norms. These misdeeds root in the misplacement of academic values among some researchers. Academic research should be the career and ambition of a few people with passion for exploration, knowledge and innovation, instead of a popularized and market-oriented vocation.Young teachers' academic values are affected by certain social environment and cultural system, which are promoted by their cognition, emotion, consciousness and practice. In fact,it is a dialectical moving process from spontaneousness to self-consciousness and then self-willingness, which are the thought process from the perceptual knowledge to rational knowledge, from the simple emotional experience to the profound experience, from the original drive to the scientific understanding and from the blind fantasy to the aim and the regularity of the aim. Nowadays, the academic values of the college young teachers are wholly positive while the problems still exist such as the utilitarian trend, the value pluralism,lack of academic belief and the individualism tendency. The main reasons which cause the problems of the academic values includes the lash of the Western trend of thought, the influence of the social environment, the alienation of academic management, the weakening of moral education and the pressure of work and life. Young college teachers should carry forward the academic values with the connotation of the times, namely taking a stronger country and better-off people as the academic ideal, patriotism as the core national spirit,reform and innovation as the core spirit of the times. All the teachers should be willing to be in lonely and devoted selflessly. Their individual academic ideal should be part of the socialist ideal with Chinese characteristics, combining their own academic development with the destiny of the whole nation. With scholarly background, they can realize their self-value in the journey of achieving academic ideal. Young teachers should take national spirit and innovational spirit with the core of patriotism, as their spiritual impetus to construct the academic value system. Putting academic ideals, academic cognition, academic emotions,academic consciousness and academic practice together, young teachers should cultivate a strong national self-esteem, self-confidence and pride. Furthermore, young teachers should regard the socialist concept of honor and disgrace as their basic academic values and norms of behavior in order to cultivate good academic quality and academic norms.Socialist core values of academic values are reflected in the academic field of study.Guided by the socialist core value system, the cultivation of young teachers' academic values should start from the following five aspects: Firstly, only to strengthen the organizational leadership can lead to the resultant force. Secondly, it is essential to determine the training content and strengthen the cultivation effect. Thirdly, it is necessary to update the cultivation ideas and to innovate and cultivate the method. Fourthly, it is needed to promote the identity of value and improve the cultivation path. From young teachers' assimilation by academic values to academic values' assimilation by young teacher and the solidification of academic values, academic values would switch to the conscious academic pursuit of young teachers. Fifthly, a reasonable distribution of academic interests and an optimized academic management system should be established. The relationship between the subject and object of academic behavior should be straightened out. Only in this way, the academic value system can be established, which taking the academic ideals and beliefs (freedom) as the core, reflecting the minimum value (the truth) and the highest value (the innovation) as the center, regarding the value standard of academic research (the quality) as its criterion and viewing the value embodiment of academic research (interests) as its goal,so as to unify "the true","the good","the beautiful" and "the beneficial" in academy. In the horizontal dimension of value, young teachers' individual academic values (the morality), the academic value of community (the good) and the academic values from social aspects (the reasonable)should be unified. In the longitudinal dimension of value, the "cognition - emotion-consciousness- practice" should be integrated into the framework of academic values. As a result, an academic value system will come into being on the basis of five major fulcrums of academic value, namely nature, cognition, awareness, internalization and externalization.
