Several key technologies related to the main function of MES for discrete manufacturing are chosen as the subjects of this research.The business requirements of operation scheduling in MES(such as the constraints and influences from real-time production information collected by MES,the different scheduling directions of the orders,the different modes of operation executing for different types of manufacturing resources,the complex connection types between operations etc.)and the models of master plan,orders and operations in MES are researched and considered in the proposed design of hybrid genetic algorithm(GA)consisting of a GA and a variable neighborhood search(VNS).A detailed operation scheduling algorithm is proposed based on the hybrid GA,and a scheduling system is designed based on the integration between the scheduling algorithm and MES.The experiments based on real production data are designed and the efficiency of the detailed operation scheduling system has been proved.The management of collaborative manufacturing orders is researched.Based on the proposed modeling method of cooperated manufacturing resource and the chromosome decoding algorithm of the schedules containing collaborative processes,a collaborative operation scheduling algorithm based on hybrid GA is proposed.Based on the integration of the scheduling algorithm,the process management in MES and the order management in ERP,an effective solution to collaborative manufacturing order management is proposed.The demands of data source for statistical analysis are researched.A data warehouse and an integration interface between the data warehouse and MES are designed.The application of the process data analysis to improve the application of Theory of Constraint,the detailed operation scheduling and production quality management is researched and the solutions are designed.A B/S architecture based statistical analysis system for MES is proposedThe stability problem when customization and extensions are made in MES are analyzed.An architecture based on 5-layer logical architecture and using the technologies of the movable business object and abstract factory pattern is proposed and applied,in which the MES business functions are isolated with the UI functions and existing functions are open for extension but not for modification in customization.The achievements of this research have been applied to a commercial MES,the architecture,main functions and the applications of which to two discrete manufacturing companies are introduced to prove the utility of proposed technologies.
