A Study Of The "New Industraliazation" And The Driven Forces Of Chinese Manufacturing

The purpose of this study was trying to give an definition of the "New Stylization" of China's manufacturing sector,and to find out the driven factors of the this transforming process.To achieve this goal,three main research activities took place.Research was formulated based upon an extensive review of current literation on the development of manufacturing and the results of a pilot study.First,a definition to what constitutes the "New Stylization" of China's manufacturing was proposed,and a conceptual model that relates Economic Performance,Technology Innovation,Resource and Environment Protection,and Social Service of the manufacturing was developed.An evaluation index system of "New Stylization"was built after this model,including four main index and 30 subsidiary indexes.Using the data from 2001 to 2011,general evaluation result suggested:china's manufacturing has been operating in a good condition,and the extent of the "new stylization" has kept increasing.From the provincial level comparison,a "top ten" list was given out:Guangdong,Jiangsu,Shandong,Zhejiang,Henan,Hebei,Shanghai,Fujian,Hubei,and Liaoning.Secondly,a more detailed technology assessment was applied to evaluate the each dimension of the manufacturing's "New Stylization".Furthermore the driven forces of each dimension were discussed.The result of Economic Performance evaluation suggested:from 2001 to 2011,the economic performance of china's manufacturing showed a good extend.In 2011,with the provincial level comparison of economic performance,a "top ten" list was given:Jiangsu,Shandong,Guangdong,Shanghai,Liaoning,Henan,Jilin,Ha-nan,Zhejiang,and Hebei.The analysis to the driven forces to the economic performance suggested:material input,human resource,technical capital,trade factor,and social system have the positive effects on the economic performance.The result of Technology Innovation evaluation suggested:from 2001 to 2011,the technology innovation capability of china's manufacturing showed a smooth improving.In 2011,with the provincial level comparison of technology innovation,a"top ten" list was given:Guangdong,Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Shandong,Shanghai,Beijing,Tianjin,Chongqing,Hubei,and Hunan.The analysis of the driven forces to the technology innovation capability suggested:financial input,FDI,total amount of import and export,and innovation environment have positive effects on the technology innovation.The result of Resource and Environment Protection evaluation suggested:from 2001 to 2011,the Resource and Environment Protection capability of china's manufacturing saw an increasing trend.In 2011,with the provincial level comparison of resource and environment protection,a "top ten" list was given:Beijing,Tianjin,Hainan,Shanghai,Jilin,Chongqing,Heilongjiang,Jiangxi,Shanxi,and Fujian.The analysis of the driven forces to the resource and environment protection suggested:economic development,science and technology capital,and FDI have the positive effects on the resource and environment protection capability of china's manufacturing.The result of social service capability evaluation suggested:from 2001 to 2011,the social service capability of china's manufacturing has kept increasing steadily.In 2011,with the provincial level comparison of social service capability,a "top ten" list was given:Guangdong,Jiangsu,Shandong,Shanghai,Zhejiang,Tianjin,Henan,Fujian,Liaoning,and Hainan.The analysis of the driven forces to the social service capability suggested:export dependence,total output,technology improvement,geographical location,gross profit rate,products sales rate,and industrial agglomeration have the positive effects on social service capability of china's manufacturing.Thirdly,a case study of Electronic Information industry was applied to provide more empirical illustration.The evaluation study suggested:the electronic information industry grew quite fast,the economic performance and the technology innovation capability of this industry were always at the first place,the resource and environment protection capability of this industry showed strong competitiveness(though the amount of the waste water had climbed higher as the industry scale expanded larger which need to be pay more attention),and the social service capability worked mainly on the job creation.At the end of this dissertation came the conclusion,and some policy suggestions were given after conclusion.
