Accurate measurement of the complexity of information systems is the basis to solve the system cost estimation,reasonable pricing and maintenance optimization,the existing academic research treat information system as a software technology system,explore the system from the software code,structure,object and so on,or hold the perspective of information system management,pay attention to the complexity degree of design and development stage of information system,but In terms of the existing research,few scholars concern about the complexity of the information system operation stage.In order to remedy the shortcomings of the existing research,this paper proposes a model and measurement method which can comprehensively measure the complexity of enterprise information system design,development and operation stage based on the data perspective,and explore the application,so as to provide reference for theoretical research and practice management of information system complexity.In order to measure the complexity of enterprise information system comprehensively and accurately,based on the theory of representation,from the information system of data content,this paper proposes the concept of "data complexity",constructs the corresponding theoretical model,and develops the measurement method and its corresponding measurement tools of complexity based on this model,than verify the proposed model and method compared with traditional model method,discusses the efficiency of model and method.On this basis,through the empirical analysis of the actual data of 162 information systems of seven manufacturing enterprises,which validates the influence of the data complexity of the enterprise information system on the maintenance price.Finally,this paper designs the adaptive maintenance strategy based on the dynamic data complexity.The main work of the paper is as follows:(1)Proposed the concept of "data complexity" and constructed the theoretical model.Aiming at the questions of what is the essence of information system,whether can combine its essence to explore its complexity,and what aspects of it? This paper proposes the concept of data complexity based on the representation theory that the data view embodies the representation of the real world,Then,according to the three hypothesis of representation theory,the model is divided into four dimensions: data model,data operation scope,data operation intensity and data quantity,and analyses the relationship between data complexity and effective application,and factors that drive the complexity of enterprise information systems.the possible theoretical contributions of the model is also explored.The results show that this model extends the application field of representation theory and is a new perspective of information system complexity research.(2)Designed the data complexity measurement method of enterprise information system.Aiming at the questions that can complexity of information systems be measured quantitatively and how to measure it,combining information entropy and complex personality space theory,this paper designs the measurement model and method based on the data complexity of enterprise information system,develops an effective measurement tool of data complexity.And use the tool to calculate and analyses the data complexity of the two kinds of information systems for enterprise application and e-government application.Firstly,the data complexity is consistent with the characteristics of the enterprise business,which is consistent with the hypothesis of the representation theory.Secondly,the data volume complexity of the operation stage contributes more to the overall complexity,it highlights the advantages that the model can reflect the characteristics of the operational stage.Finally,compared with the enterprise information system,the data operation complexity of the e-government system has a greater impact on the whole,which reflects the wider and more powerful system characteristics of the e-government system.(3)Validated the efficiency of data complexity measurement method of enterprise information system.Aiming at the questions that whether the complexity measurement method of information system is effective,compares the data complexity measurement method of enterprise information system with the traditional architecture complexity measurement method and verifies it.By comparing the data complexity of the same information system(material management information system)of three different companies in horizontal direction,and analyses the different information system(material management information system and cost management information system)of a company in Vertical.The results show that the data complexity measurement method of the information system is more comprehensive than the traditional measurement method,and the model is more comprehensive,the dynamic of measurement method is fully considered.(4)Explored the relationship between data complexity and enterprise information system maintenance.Aiming at the question that how the complexity of information system will be affected,builds a multi-stage research model of "design complexity-development complexity-operational complexity-maintenance price" based on the data complexity of enterprise information system.Tests the actual data of 162 systems of 7 large and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises,the empirical results show that the data complexity,maintenance service level and system use time will significantly affect the maintenance price of the latter.Based on this conclusion,enterprises can design a more reasonable maintenance price model from the data complexity perspective.(5)Proposed the corresponding system maintenance strategy based on the dynamic complexity of enterprise information system.Aiming at the question that "how to understand the complexity of information systems,to help develop effective management measures?" this paper constructs the maintenance strategy space based on the dynamic data complexity,and then calculates the dynamic complexity of manufacturing material management system of the three large and medium-sized enterprise,carries out targeted maintenance strategy design based on the maintenance strategy space.The results show that the maintenance strategy based on the analysis results can adapt to the business characteristics and improve the service efficiency of information system maintenance.
