The development of port collection and distribution network is the main method of promoting regionalization development and enhancing port competitiveness.Recently, with the process of port regionalization, the problem on overlapping hinterland of neighboring ports increases. These conditions intensify the port competition and lead that the ports serving the overlapping hinterland have to develop in a competitive context. Thus, for port operators, how to make decision under multiplayer competition is an important issue to slove.Based on the advantages of rail transport cost and environmental impact for cargo distant transportation, the development of port access transport and the construction of dry ports are helpful to attract more freight in the hinterland and improve the profitability of port operator.Beside the economic factor, port operators also need to consider the environmental impact of freight transport. Thus,to solve the problems about the impact of the introduction of rail on ports and shippers, simultaneous decision on port collection and distribution network design and pricing strategy and reduction of carbon emission from freight transport in port collection and distribution network, the research on the theory and methodology of port collection and distribution network planning under multiplayer game is conducted.First of all,to study the impact of introduction of rail transport services on ports and shippers,a two-stage programming model of port operators' and rail transport company's pricing strategy decision under multiplayer game is established. With the purpose of maximizing the profits of port operators and rail transport company,a rail transport company's marginal profit optimization model(the first stage model)is proposed;based on the duopoly spatial game model and considering multiple modes of transport,a port operators'pricing strategy game-theoretical model(the second stage model)is proposed.Based on the proposed model, the analytic solutions of pricing strategies of port operators and rail transport company are obtained. The impact of the introduction of rail transport services on port throughput, profit and user surplus is studied.Secondly, based on the analysis of freight transport random utility, the port collection and distribution network design and service pricing decision game-theoretical model is established. In the game-theoretical model,a dry port location and pricing strategy optimization model is built to decide the optimal strategies of port operators. The route choice behavior of shippers is formulated by a logit-based discrete choice model.By using the proposed pure Nash equilibrium adapted algorithm, the equilibrium strategies of the port operators about dry port location and service pricing are obtained. The problem about the port collection and distribution network design and service pricing strategy simultaneous decision is studied. Finally,a carbon emission oriented port collection and distribution network design game-theoretical model is established.Based on a new approximate Nash equilibrium, the equilibrium strategies of the port operators about dry port locations are obtained.Based on the results of the case study, the influences of port collection and distribution network development and improvement of port operators' and shippers'environmental concerns on the profits of port operators and freight transport carbon emissions are analyzed. This dissertation studies the problems about the impact of introduction of rail transport services on ports and shippers, the simultaneous decision on port collection and distribution network design and pricing strategy and the reduction of carbon emission from freight transport in port collection and distribution network. The research findings can provide support on the design of port collection and distribution network, the decision on port service pricing and the measures to reduce the carbon emission from freight transport in port collection and distribution network.
