Evolution Of Architectural Form Theory From The Perspective Of Technology During Pre-modern Architecture Period

The study of the theory of the modern architecture is of great importance in modern design.The development and evolution of architectural theory can not be reached out of complete time and space coordinates.The technology of modern architecture has experienced a long process of accumulation and led to fundamental changes in the form of architecture ultimately.Revolution of architectural form began with the change of construction materials and construction methods.Architectural forms of absolute scale and experience aesthetics are no longer valid with the impact of the new technology.Thirst for new architectural form is the foundation of the modern architecture growth.The western architectural theory has a long history.And the theoretical perspectives of different times are changing.It cannot be separated from the discussion on the essence of architecture,such as the function,form,structure and material of architecture.These became the core issues of concern in the later modern architecture movement,because the revolution of modern architecture was initially driven by great changes in technology.Therefore,compared with the past,this revolution of modern architecture confronted the contradiction between technology and art more directly.The importance of architectural theory and practice in the pre-modern architectural period is self-evident,on which the later exploration of new architecture is based.Many of the themes of modern architecture date from the pre-modern period.In a broad sense,the period of pre-modern architecture is an early stage in the development process of modern architecture.The pioneers in the pre-modern architecture period found a new starting point from the tradition to explore the possibility of new architecture.Consciousness of modern architecture is uncertain during pre-modern architecture period.It is necessary to explore the practice and theory about architectural form in this period.Technology includes two aspects of content as a research perspective.One is the technology itself.The other one is the people who master the technology.The former determines what the building materials and construction methods can provide in the exploration of the new building.The latter directly affects the condition of new technology to the extent to which was applied to the architectural form innovation.The development of material and structure is a prerequisite for architectural form revolution In the 19 th century.The process from the tradition to the modern revolution appeared the complexity and contradiction of architecture development.Especially in this situation in Britain,France and Germany,the three countries of modern architecture thought germination experienced a long process of exploring new architectural form since the 19 th century to early 20 th century.The development of architecture not only includes the change of architectural form itself,but also includes the power that dominates the change of architectural form.In pre-modern architecture period,this dominant force was manifested as the change of technology and other humanistic elements associated with technology,which jointly led to the fundamental change of architectural form from tradition to modernity.Technology is a clue back to the long process of pre-modern architecture.The change of mainstream culture and aesthetic concept needs a long and tortuous process.From this perspective,the positive impact of technology on architectural form change and the obstacles of traditional aesthetics will be presented in a more objective way.
