Due to the lack of materials in the past time, the social and economic research of the middle Yangtze in the Qin Dynasty was relatively weak. There have been nine batches of unearthed bamboo and wood slips of the Qin dynasty in the middle Yangtze. These bamboo and slips reflect the middle Yangtze in Qin dynasty in many aspects, such as the District Geography, social and economic life, population, nation, how the Qin people operated the Chu area, and so on. What's more, most of the Qin Bamboo Strips collected by Yuelu Academy and Beijing University are about the middle Yangtze. Much of the content in these bamboo and strips are not recorded by classical documents. All of the mentioned bamboo and wood slips provide us rich historical information for researching the society and economy of the middle Yangtze in Qin dynasty. Based on the bamboo and wood slips above, the author gives a further research about the society and economy of the middle Yangtze in Qin dynasty. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part, from Chapter 1 to Chapter 3, is mainly about administrative division and the related problems of the middle Yangtze in Qin dynasty. According to the Qin bamboo and wood slips and other excavated literature, Chapter 1 contains the analysis of Jun in the middle Yangtze in Qin. In the discussion of the east boundary of Nan-Jun, the author also mentioned the legal term, Bang Wang, which occurred many times in the bamboo slips of Qin Dynasty, and the new toponym, Jing Zhou, which occurred in the Qin Bamboo Strips collected by Yuelu Academy. With the excavated Qin bamboo strip manuscripts and historical documents, and considers that the bamboo strips collected by Beijing University, the author speculated that the bamboo slips collected by Beijing University in waterway should be written after the 35th year(212 BC) of the First Emperor of Qin. Moreover, three viewpoints are presented in the paper:first, Dangyang, Qi and Ruo were degraded to be townships in the end of Qin; second, Gaocheng and Xiling were not belonging to the South Prefecture; the Left Yunmeng and the Right Yunmeng had been just the names of gardens, instead of counties. Chapter 3 gave the exploration about Yi in Qin. There was administrative ranking, Yi, indeed, according to Qin bamboo. Yi was different from Country and Feng Yi. Maybe Yi and Li were on the same administrative ranking level, belonging to Xiang. At the same time, Yi, in Qin bamboo, meant not only a kind of administrative ranking but also the settlement. In the mid part, including Chapter 3 and 4, the author mainly talk about the social status in the middle of the Yangtze recorded in the Qin bamboo.Based on slips of the Qin Dynasty, the author reseached into issues about slaves in the middle of the Yangtze in Chapter 4, including many aspets of slaves, such as liberation, social status, census register, and buying or selling slaves. Da Nv Zi Hua, in the Liye household register slips, cannot be viewed as the letter, Li. Liye strips of Qin period 9-337 had not proved the Knighthood of the Li. The terms, Ji ren, Yu ren and Ke, in the Shuihudi Qin bamboo Ri Chu, mean refugee, but not Yong.In the last part, included Chapter 6 and 7, the author discussed about the economy of the middle Yangtze in the Qin.
