The Translation Of "The Interpretation Of The Key Terms Of Intercultural Communication" And Its Database Foundation

Terms are special words in a particular discipline.Chen guoming and An ran systematically explained the terms of intercultural communication in one of their book,“The Interpretation of the Key Terms of Intercultural Communication".The book not only plays a guiding role in understanding the basic concepts of intercultural communication,but also has a significant meaning in Mongolian translation.With the development of Internet,founding database is convenient for studying the theory of every discipline.Unfortunately,the intercultural communication terminology database has not been established.Therefore,we translated the book from Chinese into Mongolian and built a trilingual(Mongolian,Chinese and English)database for the terms of intercultural communication.This thesis is composed of preface,text(chapter 1,chapter 2,chapter 3)and summary.In the preface part,the author illustrates the formation of intercultural communication in the United States in the middle of the 20th century,from the reform and opening up in China,study has become a hot spot in the 21st century,but intercultural communication Mongolian terms are lacked.Therefore,taking“The Interpretation of the Key Terms of Intercultural Communication" as the research object,the author translates the terms of intercultural communication into Mongolian and emphasized the importance of founding a database for the terms.In chapter 1,the author explains the basic concepts,categories,characteristics and construction language of database related to the terms and database and their types.In the second chapter,it explains the thinking method of solving the problem when interpreting the key terms of intercultural communication.Among the 125 terms in this book,some are less professional terms of intercultural communication,some are not concepts,but a sentence of meaning.Therefore,when we translate the terms and combine their English and Chinese with each term,and some of the terms are compared with the original English.First,we translate intercultural communication terms in the book by using the automatic translation machine system,then compared with the original book in Chinese,correct unidiomatic vocabulary and sentences.The accuracy of translation of mechanical translation system is not satisfactory,but it is very convenient for our Mongolian translation.In chapter 3,we expound the structure of database and the characteristics of the database language.The database has the function of user registration,user login,retrieval function,editing function,and updating space,which is a complete database of intercultural terms of intercultural communication.
