A Study Of Mongolian Translation Of Chinese Political Terms And Phrases

Political terms are vocabularies about politics which has specific meanings formed in series of activities solving internal and foreign affairs by the party and government. Political terms are called to be the soul for political essays. Like other translation, the translation of political terms is important but difficult. In translation of political essays, the translation of terms are to be the most important part, since its translation quality decides that if a translation of a political essay is good or not and cause misunderstanding when the translation of terms gets wrong or inaccurate. This dissertation has concluded translation principles and method of political terms by means of analysis on Chinese and Mongolian political terms on basis of functional translation theory.The dissertation consists of five chapters including the introduction. In the introduction, the purpose of selected topic, research status, research meaning, research method etc. are discussed. Chapter one, introduced the developed process of functional translation theory, and discussed Reiss'Informative texts, Holz M?ntt?ri's Translatorial action, Vermeer's Skopos theory and Nord's Faithfulness and the applicability of functional translation theory for translation of political terms are illustrated meanwhile. Chapter two, discussed the characteristics of political terms and translation principles of it. Chapter three, discussed the translation strategies of political terms into Mongolian on large scale of examples. Chapter four, found out the inaccuracy in translation of political terms from Chinese into Mongolian and analyzed its reasons and put forward corresponding correcting methods.
